Really Off Topic - Drainage pipe under foundation

Hey everyone - so I have a drainage pipe leading from my backyard to the front of the garage foundation. The backyard is higher than the front by about two feet.

The pipes compromised half way through - it's evident through wet spots in the garage.

My plan was to dig the back out - I did and found the entrance. I was going to cap this and run a drain around the house. There's a metal wire - running near this pipe that splits - half of it actually runs into the pipe and the other half deeper into the ground.

I think it's a ground wire for something - so I can't cap it off...

Anyone have any ideas / experiences?

Is it a bare or insulated wire? Is the pipe metal or plastic/PVC? The wire splits?, Where does the other end go?

I understand, but it sounds like you need someone on-site to accurately (and safely) assess your situation. Good luck - just trying to help and keep you alive - your choice.

It's metal and braided - and the pipe is black plastic not PVC it's as old as the house I'm guessing and coated with orangeburg all the way through.

I feel like this running through out of ease as well as serving as a drainage pipe and giving it two purposes is giving too much credit to the original builders haha

I haven't found where the second split goes - one heads into the pipe and the other just deeper into the ground. I'm three feet down as is just to reach this pipe.

I'll get some pictures tomorrow - it's dark out. Thanks for the input so far everyone.

My plan B right now is to feed a plastic hose that's slightly smaller diameter all the way through - seal each end around the difference in diameter. Compromised pipe solved.
