1. Jealous people who can't seem to grasp the thought of congratulating someone on their new car, even if dad/mom got it for them.
2. Uptight people who don't want anyone looking at their car the wrong way, playing a joke on them, or voicing their opinion (after op asked for it) for absolute fear the end of the world will be brought upon them and their car.
3. Overtly politically correct people who can't take a joke, statement, or basically any other idea that is other than their own with a chuckle and would rather bash the op into the ground or yell "racist" for what they perceived the comment to mean.

That being said, there is also the greater majority who can take it as they dish it, don't get offended much, and do give grats when new members join regardless of situations, and for them I say thank you and I enjoy your humor and friendliness quite a bit, especially the sarcastic, non PC posts. Everyone else needs to put on their "man pants" and GTFO.
Well said sir. I just today had to deal with this. I shortly there after renewed my membership to Modern Camaro....might be time for a change.

Ive been members of several auto forums the longest being duramaxforum.com and I can say without one iota of doubt that this is the most polite and well organized site i've been apart of. I will say as a result of this sometimes I get the impression that the mods are overfully zealous and midly anal. However to maintain a well run forum requires structure...and rules.

Things sometimes appear almost political on here; at point in which I find myself dumbfounded. But then again dumb is in the word.

I enjoy my time and or interactions with members and vendors; ALL of which have been positive so far.

Going to hide now from the hammer of Thor

I like your racing quotes. I remember them interviewing Kenny Shrader right after he blew his engine. Reporter:"What happened Kenny?", Kenny:"Something important on the motor fell out through a hole in the oilpan."

I use sarcasm & irony fairly often, and the key (as with any form of communication) is to know your audience. Here, the audience is 'internet forum' and not 'my 5 buddies I've known half my life'. Since we've got tens of thousands of folks from any background you can imagine, you kinda have to assume that people will take it serious. Because to them, certain sarcastic comments will come accross as insults or challenges -even if they knew it was meant as a joke.

With friends you've known for a long time, its a different story. You know whats fair game, whats offensive, and what happens when you cross the line. When talking to countless strangers, you simply don't know. In which case, its best to try and play it safe.

It gets absolutely histerical when you actually know the whole story. And as much as I'd like to share some of those laughs, as a rule we don't "air our dirty laundry" regarding who got banned & why. So the only folks that ever do know that story are the Camaro5 staff & the folks who consider themselves rejects (and feel the urge to complain on another site).

Much like society, there is always the bad seed in the bunch. No need to be negative towards anyone. Just enjoy your car and other C5's out there.

That was very well put and is how a mod should respond to such things. I haven't had a problem here until today when a mod decided to delete posts he obvoisly did not agree with but left other posts that were equally as "political" as mine. When I said something about it, he told me I was "pouting" and I should find another forum. I thought that was a little rude but hey maybe he was being "sarcastic" lol.

I never complain about mods. What's the point?

I've administered BBS's, forums and other stuff over the years...and certain people think freedom of speech trumps a forums rules. The information highway is paved with the corpses of trolls.
