Newbie Camaro Owner and new to Board.....

...and have lots of questions!

I just bought my 2011 2LT last Saturday (6/9/2012); the dealer got it at auction from an Idaho rental outfit. Only had 9,600 miles on it. I ended up renting a 2012 yellow 2LT from Hertz after a kid rear-ended me at about 65mph when I was stopped for traffic on the local freeway....and I'm sure the State Troopers on the scene totally believed him that his iPhone and the Android phone on the passenger seat had nothing to do with it. Right. Anyways, my 2000 Accord was a goner but saved my life. My wife said it was time for me to get my mid-life crisis car, so here I am.

I have been poking around on this forum a bit and have amassed a bunch of questions I can't wait to ask, and will do in the appropriate sections. I will ask one now, though....am I crazy, or am I the only one that will take now the longer route to get somewhere just so I can drive my car more? Is it just me????

Thanks!
Brad
P.S.: sorry for the tiny cell phone pic.......

Welcome to the forums and permagrin. I too take the long way home and find the silliest reasons to go somewhere.

Last I went to the kitchen for a snack. My wife asked me to bring her a drink.

I reponded- ok, be right back and proceeded to drive to 7-11 (not the one right down the street, the one across town)

Portland, Oregon! Another Oregonian, welcome aboard! I frequently drive to Portland to visit friends, family, and try my wares on the dyno... I completely understand what you're saying, I am scared @#$^less driving around on the roads up there, and will look at traffic maps to find the least amount of traffic even if it means a longer drive...

My favorite is having only 1 can of cat food left and running out to get some- at midnight

Glad my wife understands otherwise she might get suspicious with all the wacko reasons I leave the house.

We are hoping to pick up our new Convertible on Monday in Detroit at Rogers Chevrolet. Driving our 2010 up there up I-75 directly. Coming back will be different. Down to Indianapolis and tour the track and museum, then down to Bowling Green Ky to the Corvette Museum and hopefully tour the Corvette plant. Then down to Nashville, then over to The Tail Of The Dragon, then home. A great break in trip.
