True. Places the base in 1SS territory at MSRP. BUT, Z plan still takes a good chunk out of that and makes it a fight between a 2LT and a GT.

302ci 400/375 vs 304/275. Unless they decide to turbo the 3.6 LLT to keep in step with the Ecoboost motor, I could reconsider; but cost could still be a factor. Z-Plan is a really big thing about this decision guys.

I will be picking up a used 2010 Camaro 1SS though within the next 5 years; I've said this over and over. So don't fret guys, I haven't given up on the Camaro. That's because there really isn't via sheet metal. The suspension and handling were the latest generation improvements. The 302 is going to upgrade the powerplant in '11 and after that the S-197 is going to be around for the forseeable future for Ford. Much like Zeta has been saved by Henderson for use in the Camaro for that same time period. It's now a game of who can handle better as well as straight line runs.

Are you getting the 2010 mustang for looks or for price plus the 5.0 engine? If you pick price and the 5.0 engine. Have you ever consider looking at a used 03-04 cobra because they already have 400hp with forge internals. To me the cobras look hell a lot better then the 2010 mustangs, but to each it own.

I think Mustang guys won't have much to say about price difference once the 5.0 cars come around.

Cobra doesnt have 400HP stock, it has 390, and you may argue "OHH WHAT A BIG DIFFERENCE" but it is

And for the First time...go with the Camaro even if it is a LT V6.

03-04 cobras were under-rated, some of them put 350-370 to the wheels, google

You might also want to consider reliability, a proven LS series small block Chevy vs a new tot he market alum double overhead cam Ford engine that is not proven. I know where my money would be.

Personally I think you made a good choice.

Come on guys. I mean, I know it's a Camaro forum and I know I personally like the Camaro better, but let's think about this. (And I know this isn't exactly how things are for him, but I'm making a point).

If someone said "Here you go. Here's $27,000. You can spend ONLY this amount. You may not draw from your own funds or get another loan. This is the only money you're allowed to spend. And you can spend it on one of two cars.

1) A brand new Camaro 1LT, V-6, DOHC DI 304hp.
OR
2) A brand new Mustang GT, 5.0 DOHC 400hp.

Honestly guys, how many of you would choose the V-6 over the V-8? Personally if I could only afford one or the other, I'd be riding a stallion.

That being said, I hope you make the right choice, work some over time, save up some money over the next 6 months, or win a $10,000 scratch off lottery ticket and make the decision to go back to a new 1SS Camaro
