So, as many of you know I have decided at this time against purchasing the Camaro as a college graduation present to myself. And as such I feel as if some feel ostracized and betrayed by this move. And let me tell you, I'm in your shoes as well. After driving the car, I couldn't believe that I had done it and liked it..

Left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I mean, it wasn't as roomy as the Camaro and didn't have the EVILGURR looks that the Camaro has.. but:

-Z Plan
-Local Dealership Connections
-Family Connections to salespeople
-Track record with Ford Repair shops
-V8 for under 30K after taxes FTMFW!

These, along with the new 5.0L motor and ease at which I can rig up a Track Package on my own make the Mustang the ideal budget muscle car for myself after I leave college with an asinine amount of loan debt over my noggin.

So I will also say, in closing, that I haven't given up on the Camaro. By 2014 I hope to find a cheap 1SS to put some cash down and take home. For now, however, the Mustang seems like the logical choice for someone like myself short of BUYING AN ECONOBOX/IMPORTHYBRIDPOS!

Now which is better: Econobox Import or American Muscle? Seriously guys. Where's the civil Camaro5 that I saw when I joined last fall?

I have a feeling that there will be others following in your footsteps also with challenger especially the way some dealerships are using "market conditions"

I've had my thoughts of purchasing a Challenger because with some of the independent dealers closing will discount lower than MSRP, and we need a car now. The Camaro is for my wife, (currently behind the wheel of my beloved Avalanche) she takes me to work at 7am and picks me up at 5:30ish. She LOVES the Challenger but it does not come w/heated seats like my truck unless you get the SRT8. Plus I work at a Chevrolet dealership so you really cant beat dealer invoice + TTL. We ordered a Black on Black 2LT/RS 10/13 and has been @ 3000 since 4/21. Total around 29K so I think worth the wait. Anyway, congrats on graduating, good luck, and I'm sure you will enjoy any new vehcile you get.

That hasn't been beat to hell and back? That isn't marked up to high heaven because the owner thinks they have gold on their hands because it's a 2002?

Sometimes I don't know why I even bother if the Kool-Aid was really that strong.

And just so some of you know, and I'll beat it home again: Look at invoice. Add a rebate incentive to that of say..2K. That's what I'd be paying on a Camaro if GM had something like a Z plan. But I don't have that luxury. I do have it for the Mustang..

He's just resting. You know my stance, but if you want to voice your support, that's why I posted this thread. But if there is continual bashing of the Mustang, and god forbid a derail into political BS at my expense, I'll order it closed at the drop of a hat.

Don't be mad at a poor college student that realized that STUDENT LOANS took priority over a BADASS CAR.

Oh, and just so you know.. I still harbor hate for some Stangbangers. Just as I always hated the Mulleteers that gave Camaro Fans the Mullet Moniker. There's still some good left under this black armored shell. XD
