Auntie Get Your Gun

I made a video of bubbly Auntie firing off a few shells out of my Mossberg. It was her first time holding a shotgun.

Plus, if you're in a bad mood just wait until the end, she'll make you smile!

I had a Kimber tactical entry II and got rid of it. I have had the 1911 bug for awhile again and decided to give this a try. I got it new for $895 and the distributor had it in stock. (A New kimber was $350 more and 6 month wait)

Seems like a pretty good value for waht you get. Nitron sights, 4 sig 8 round mags, etc.

RO'ing the DoubleTap Championship!!!

Got a busy 3 days ahead. Im range officer on stage 2 of the 2nd largest USPSA pistol match in the country. Over 300 shooters signed up and over 30 grand masters to include the some of the top shooters in the world.

This is the 8th annual DoubleTap i have shot and worked. Its my home range and only 8 miles down the road. the best part, only 7 members and 14 bays with all the neat props to practice on. Here is a link to the range and the 12 stages we have planned. Lots of run and gun as always at the Doubletap which is why its such a popular match. I shoot open class.

Heres a couple vids from last year, Im in the white shirt with the clipboard on the first video. the shooter is unknown but is the typical shooter in USPSA

Here is a mid level grand master, notice the difference. The vid shows him shooting a bunch of stages. At 1:15 in the vid he is on our stage

Yesterday I got to add a new toy to my collection. I was looking on line at at www.CollectorsFirearms.com. They are a store here in Houston. She is Swedish so I showed her a 1896 6.5 Swedish caliber rifle produced for the Swedish military, by Mauser Werke in 1899. It is an all matching serial numbers Mauser built in 1899.

She saw it and said lets go! One hour later I have my first C&R gun. Below are pictures of the actual gun.

Has anyone ever shot one of these? I am going to the range this week with it.

Nice rifle, I have a 1883 Snider rifle which I inherited when my father passed away. It has been sitting around for 26 years, so recently I got courious about it orgin and did some research. Snider was taken over by Enfield Rifle Co. of England. The rifle was used in several wars in Europe & Africia. Will Post pictures.

Cool. I would love to see it.

I am really getting into the C&R type guns and think I might start a collection. These older guns have a history that the new guns don't, and that is a big part of the fun.

When I was there, they also had a great Swedish built Luger 9mm style pistol with 6 rounds of original ammo and the original holster. I think it would be cool to start obtaining all of the pre WWII guns that a neutral country like Sweden used to keep from being invaded. They made superior quality guns that were much more accurate from what I have been reading.

Sweden's Army motto is "Neutrality through strength".

Here are some pictures I took, it not the best quality but you kind of get the idea of the Rifle. Its needs some T.L.C. because it has been in the closet for years.

Nice!! I would oil it up a bit, but you don't want to refurbish it. Guns that have been completely restored lose a lot of value.

I love old C&R stuff. Some old goodies out there. I've only had Mosin Nagants as far as C&R goes (who hasnt).

I really want to add a 308WIN bolt rifle to my collection to finish it off. I want something a little different, but quality. Lately I thought it would be really neat to pick up a rifle with iron sights on it factory.

Looking at either a Ruger Gunsite Scout:

http://ruger.com/products/gunsiteScoutRifle/models.html

or a CZ 550FS Mannlicher

I have a CZ 455 American in 22WMR and it's a really nicely made rifle...

http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/cz-550-fs/

The Mannlicher looks very European but I kinda dig that. It's a very neat change from my cabinet of typical AR's, 870s, and 1911s...

I played with both at the local gun shop. The Ruger is a little more rugged and has double the capacity but not as much character. IDK. lol.

I am all about American made products of the past and of today.
Looking at buying a pistol to add to the arsenal and looking at the M&P smith and Wesson in .40 cal

Anyone experience with this caliber from smith, I want something that fits in my big hand that is nice and small to conceal.
