...Look at the first post!...Pressure wash driveways, block walls, etc...not cars. It's a lazy man's way to wash, and causes damage. (obviously)

And unless you love curb rash on your rims, and hardcore swirlies, avoid automatic car washes too..

PS, just do what another person in my area did, get a decepticon or autobot emblem and plunk it down over the hole. Should cost no more than $25.

You really need to stop using a pressure washer. Pressure washers essentially sand blast the clear coat. Keep it up and you'll have to repaint the whole car.

I pressure wash mine every week sometimes more then once if it needs it. I nvr get very close plus I have a nice layer of wax on it. The hose at my apt complex sucks. As long as your careful, it isnt an issue. I just use it for the water. I still handwash out of a bucket with my own soap plus I love the spotfree rinse. I dont have to touch my car to dry it off and never get spots. Sorry this happened to you :( Hope your dealer fixes it for you.

Just find a local automotive graphics shop. They can just measure off the piece and cut you a new one. You shouldn't have to buy a whole new set. I would guess 75-100 bucks tops. A guy in town quoted me 400 for a full custom set of carbon fiber stripes, installed.

Looks like you need an entire set of stripes, maybe a whole new trunk lid, maybe yep, after looking closer, you need a new ZL1!

Peel them off and have them painted on.. at your favorite auto body shop.

You'll be glad you did!

Ah - light bulb moment for me, when I bought my car it had the exact same thing on a back stripe, just like yours. The dealer replaced it for me, but they did it. I always wondered what had happened to it, now I know.
They replaced the messed up side only, and gave me the extra stripe. I used it for the decals on my engine cover et al. it was only the rear stripes though so meybe you can just get the rear stripes instead of the whole set.

I had this happen to me with my Corvette. You'll just need to replace the damaged stripe. It shouldn't cost too much. Worst case, they will try to get you to swap out both stripes on the trunk so they match exactly. Just be more careful next time.

There is nothing wrong with pressure washing as long as you are careful, especially around the stripes. A car wash pressure wand is also a much higher pressure than a home electric pressure washer, which is what I use and was recommended by my detailer. Lesson learned for the OP.
