2013 Mustang GT500 MEGA THREAD

My DREAM is to have a ZL1, GT500 and a comparable Challenger in my garage. However, my GOAL is to get my ZL1 first. I love Camaros 1st, American muscle 2nd.

I can't believe that nobody has put these two cars up against each other yet?? I think Ford does not want to publicly lose on the track and Chevy does not want to publicly lose at the strip. The mags have gotten million dollar cars together faster than they have a Mustang and Camaro

I wouldn't be surprised if that is exactly what's happening... They are both probably saying "no comparison tests".

OR... LOL Ford is saying... you can do a comparison but only at the drag strip. Chevy is saying the same thing about a road course...

Truth is that Ford did not wake up since the pony car race started in the 60's, and Ford still focuses on making the Mustang run faster and faster, while the Camaro does both track and straight line equally good. Best way to compare it is to put the new 2013 Shelby Mustang on the Nurburgring track, and compare it with the ZL1 time. That is where the ultimate difference matters, and that's where the Camaro has the overall win.

You would think once the cars are released to the public, its free for all mags to do what they want with the cars.....I could be wrong....

Unless I missed something we don't know what the gt500's ring time is yet, so the Camaro zl1 has no overall win yet. From what I can see is so far the gt500 has took it in every department. I love how everyone cares about road racing now.

We should have one in the 9's at the strip in less than a week, with a lot less done than the zl1 that went 9's

And i think you guys are going to be very surprised at how well it performs at the road course too

I'm thinking so... I know that they've put conditions on reviews when they provide the car... but like you said... If the Magazine rents or buys one, they can do what they want, I'm sure.

I do not think the ZL1 will eat it up on the road course. I expect the Mustang to fair pretty well. I do think the ZL1 will be slightly better though. I think Ford is pretty smart and did their homework on this car. I just want to see the comparison. It's not going to change anything for me. I own a ZL1 and do not plan on selling it. I would not expect the Shelby to outperfrom a Boss on a road course and the ZL1 has already proven to be a little better than the Boss on a couple road courses. Just want to see how they do head to head in all categories.

The baseline for this thread is stock vs stock.

Otherwise he who has the most money and the least fear wins.

i think stock the gt500 is going to get it done

and again, bolt on mods, the gt500 is going to way surpass, already been done in less than a week
