The 5.0 motor in the 11-13s is available in crate form like an LS1. about 7K to do the motor and it pretty much bolts up to most 4.6 V8 applications. Not to mention that the 4.6 was in the stangs till '10, shouldn't be too hard to fit one in there.

S195 (Ford-ese for the chassis) GT vert with 5.0 Crate.. think the resale would be better and an interesting project for the hell of it but I hear ya.

Thing is can you net a girl that would rather help you mod the car?
