Wow Bonnie, look at those curves! I think you're easily the best looking out of the ones in the pic you posted by far. Those other gals got to stringy looking which isn't attractive in my book. Athletic good - stringy no good LOL

Well, I've gone to phase2 of this low carb diet. Almost no carbs at all now except for veggies. Cut out the diet drinks as well and alcohol (gasp). I'll only have that stuff on the weekends. This is week two and the memory loss has kicked in big time. I set something down and can't remember where I put it 10 seconds later. Thirsty a lot, etc. Drinking loads of water now 2+ gallons a day I guess?

Workouts are still going good. Stamina is down just a bit, but I think that's more a result of doing Crossfit at night and then hitting the gym for weights in the morning.

The Crossfit stuff is pretty fun, and way more fun that cadio on an elliptical or whatever. Last night was Barbell lunges for the weight lifting, then the conditioning was 12 minutes of as many rounds as we could complete of the following:

Hand stand push ups (3) easy
Jumping lunges (6) easy
Hanging knees to elbows (9) - killed me - my abs are still cramping up

They have graduated workouts for the conditioning since not everybody can do hand stand push ups and all that. Me and one other gal in the class picked the hard one. She ended up kicking my ass to boot LOL I got 9.5 rounds and I think she got 11!

Monday's workout:

Today's meals:

6am - protein shake (1.5 scoops) / 1tbsp natural peanut butter / vitamins

9am - protein shake (1.5 scoops) / 1/4 cup almonds

12pm - 8oz grilled chicken / 2 cups broccoli

3pm - 6oz roast beef sliced / 2 slices swiss

6pm - protein shake (1.5 scoops) / 1tbsp natural peanut butter

8pm - 2cups turkey chili / spinach salad

Same thing as last spring man. I know what I'm doing. Just giving those disciplined enough to get serious an idea of what to expect. The body isn't really designed to be single digit body fat, so you gotta take the bad with the good.

It's not so much the low body fat that's the problem. The body is designed to burn carbs not fat.

Unless you force it to burn fat instead of carbs

I doubt it's possible to get below 9-10% eating carbs and all that without losing a boat load of muscle.

Ironically...I've lifted harder this go around so where I had to be at 157lbs to hit 8% BF I'm at 160 now and 8%. I don't mind the issues...just comes with the territory and lets me know it's working.

Yes, you can "force" your body to burn fat for fuel but it's low octane fuel and has many bad side effects, to me it's just not worth it because you can get single digit body fat by eating the right amount of the right kind of carbs at the right time. Just for the heck of it here is a question for Bonnie if she's reading this, she's obviously in the single digit body fat range, maybe she can post here typical diet, I'm quite sure it's not a keto type diet.

Hi Donna. I was wondering where you've been. Good to have you back even if it's just for a visit. Good to see you're still at it,

Well now look at that, single digit body fat while eating clean carbs with almost every meal. How the heck did I know that. Because that's the right way to do it without all the negative side effects of to low of a carb intake.

I don't know if anyone here has ever heard of Tom Venuto, he is an all natural body builder who also has written many articles as well as an e-book. It is the most comprehensive reading on fat loss I have ever read, the name of his book is also what I practice and most who are succesful at fat loss while reataining muscle do as well. The title "BURN THE FAT, FEED THE MUSCLE" and it works.
