Wait?! So is it a 1SS or a 2SS? Maybe a SS/RS SS? Maybe its a heritage or synergy? Will it have a 45th anniversary even though it hasn't been made in years so it's really a 38th anniversary? Really gm? Really? I wonder if there will be 14 different versions like they did with the camaro? Gm do us all a favor and just make TWO versions, a cheap one and cool one. Thank you. lol.

So wait... lemme get this straight.

Lighter than a Camaro SS, with four doors and LOTS of interior space?

I personally love this concept, and I think its pretty close to reality (it has all the right cues)

If the SS looks like this, and has the GXP drivetrain in it without the weight, I'm totally sold.

This is from Jayski.com. Looks like we will be speculating for a while...

Chevy not to reveal race car until later in the year: While Ford unveiled the Fusion in January and its prototype actually made laps at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Dodge had its coming-out party for the Charger in Las Vegas, it could be awhile before the public sees the final Chevrolet reveal, said Jim Campbell, the company's US vice president, performance vehicles and motorsports. "We're determining that right now, but it will be a number of months yet before we reveal the car," Campbell said. "It will be much, much later this year." On Thursday, Chevrolet announced that its new Cup car will be branded under the Chevrolet SS nameplate and that a limited production version will be available in showrooms at the end of next year. The manufacturer also released a photo of the Cup prototype.(FoxSports)(5-20-2012)

If this thing looks decent I'll be looking for the dark gray option.

I really don't think they would call it an SS by the time it comes out. At least, I hope not. Everybody thought the ZL1 was the Z28 for the longest time.

Except GM never said anything regarding Z28/ZL1 until the day of its debut.

The press release says "SS." The OnStar screw up said "SS Performance Sedan." The Chevrolet website says "SS."

It could be a worse name, I think.

At least they aren't calling it the "Fruitbasket"

LOL

My brther has a G8 GXP and I think it is a fantastic car. However, I don't like how understated it is. I hope they don't make it too pedestrian, or at least offer a much sportier looking option package.

See, I'm the opposite. Take all the flash from it. Sort of like the '04-06 GTOs looked. Helluva sleeper.
