I still prefer the ZL-1 though.
SO WRONG

But the bodies don't go to SA. Nothing does. They induldged an 89 year old guy by letting him get in a car and tell them about feel. He's not an engineer. He's a race car driver that retired in 1959. If you think that Ford let Mr. Shelby develop anything on this car, GM should have hired my grandpa to help ZL1 engineers.

No part of the GT500 goes to Shelby American. As they licence his name they ask for his input. And they promised Shelby the 200 MPH speed.

It's not a pissing match because you are completely wrong.

i like it. But 285's in the rear? They added over 100 more horses and kept the tire size's the same? Those tires are way to small. The weight distribution to at 57/43 that's terrible. The ZL1's still better.

In your opinion, what are the small tires stopping it from doing?

In my opinion its a chess match. Lets just hope its not check mate.
Can't wait till they are both on new lighter platforms. Exciting times indeed.

well, it still destroys Kias, Hondas, Toyotas.

That said, by the time you factor in the difference in price and use that for the ZL1 you are much closer....I think it IS something to consider.

But stock vs stock....yeah we know how that is.
I see Mustangs of all stripes at every single track day. Have yet to see a Camaro as much as I'd love too.

Fair enough. The ZL1 was the best for a month. Coulda been 3 but I think there was some sort of delay getting it into owners hands.

See, this is kinda what I was thinking when they first announced 650hp. You're knocking on the door of the vette at those numbers, in a straight line anyway. The 2012 zr1 is only 638! It feels, shit even appears... putting those kind of numbers in a production muscle car that ford was not trying to beat the camaro but the vette. But its easy for ford to save face if there is any truth to that.

The late great Mr.Shelby always did say something along those lines. Wanted to build a mustang that could go out and beat a vette. Looks like its coming true with the exception of the ZR1.
