im sure its possible to run 11.5 more than once. Its entirely possible Ford ran 11.5's during their own testing and evan smith ran 11.5@127 today. Either way, it was done.

That information was posted by a member on SVTP. He's met with Jamal Hameedi several times, and he ALWAYS has insider information. His name is the same on SVTP as it is on Shelby Forums.

The car went 11.52 @ 127 MPH, and when power-shifted 11.71 @ 129 MPH. That's hauling the hay.

It was a poster on SVTP that has worked with (not for) SVT since the days of the Ford GT. He has been spoon feeding all of us for a while about the performance. I finally asked him what he has personally seen at SVT testing and that there is no need for secrets anymore. He agreed and posted the 11.52 @ 127 time. He also posed a powershifted time that got squirrly of 11.71 @ 129.

This time was not at the press event but during SVT R & D for the new car. Nothing official but he has been saying mid 11's @ 125+ for quite some time.

the source sounds very reputable. I too would still like to see proof of the ZL1 11.9 run though

The '13 GT500 is bada$$. No doubt. Hats off to Ford for going off the hook. I like it although I am not sure how useful 650 hp is on the street. Not for me though. I like the GT and the Boss better.

But who did not know months ago the ZL1 would be slower at the drags? It's pure physics. Not a shocker. A race track duel will be more interesting. At these HP levels the less rigid and solid axle GT500 Mustang will be harder to tame. And I wouldn't doubt that the GT500 is fast at the Ring. It's a horsepower track.

And I like the repartee. Why is everyone so offended so easily? What's wrong with a little healthy disagreement? Welcome to Camaro world Mustang fans.

If you ask me Mustang and Camaro owners are the same car people and both would be happy with the other car.

Hey, if they shoot a video with Ford Engineers and say 11.5 like GM did that will work for me. I don't have to see the slips or the time board, a GM or Ford employee on video saying it is enough for me.

Don't know about Ford, but GM definitely did not present the facts in there behind the scenes drag shoot out, with the ZL1. We were there, and the only sub-12 second times, was with a fresh set of Nitto Drag Radials on both the auto and manual ZL1. They kept trying with the stock wheels, and tires. The best was mid-12's. That's the truth, and trust me, we both wanted to see the ZL1 hit the 11 second mark - right out of the box.
