Regardless of the Make of auto, if it gets 10.49 or better, it needs a cage. Today was an example of awesome bracket racing. And who better than a pro to keep it right on the edge of where it needs to be? Nice runs and video.

Hello fellow car enthusiasts, I am the one that spent the day with the gt500 at road Atlanta and at Atlanta drag way. I am here to answer any questions anyone may have, please keep this civilized or I wont post.

Both the '13 GT500 and the ZL1 are awesome machines! I am honored to have spent the day with ford at both tracks, had it been a ZL1 testing I would've been just as honored!

For a Camaro site with many members who really don't give a crap about F*** or any vehicle they manufacture, there sure is a lot of chatter about the GT500.

These times mean nothing. Wait until they are broken in properly!

Shame about that because us Mustang guys like to hear about any enthusiast cars. We love Mustangs, of course but respect GT-Rs, Porsche, Corvette & Camaro, even the new Toyota and Subaru BRZ. That's why you'll find us on many popular car sites, and probably explains why so few Camaro guys are on the Mustang sites.

Wow.

Three shops have run the ZL1 stock in the 12.4x range. GM ran 11.9x with DR's, Flypaper track, -57DA, and a pro driver (has a 920hp race car).

Shelby comes in, runs 11.8 (MM&FF "pro") with hotlapped cars, stock tires and 2000+ DA and you still are questioning anything?

Don't forget. GM's hero DR run was with an AUTO!!!

The Shelby is .6 ET and 6 mph faster. End of story.

Enjoying all the "spirited discussion" here.

Also chomping at the bit to see what I can get out of my '13 GT500. It's been fun since I got it Wednesday, but there's only so much you can do with it on public roadways (not that I haven't tried).

10.49 for a cage correct ,but you only need to run an 11.49 to need a roll bar.
According to IHRA rules. I believe NHRA is 11.99 unless the rules changed since two years ago.

That's why I ask on another thread how everyone is getting away with this.

At my track you will get the boot if you run under those times without a roll bar or cage depending on your time.

Why would you get the glass roof ,but not get the SVT package?

Not knocking it, Just wondering.

Like the color combo.
