The rest of the world maybe? Hey, I am not that big into race track driving, but its where all performance cars are heading. You Ford guys seemed to be pretty happy with the Boss 302 its a track car?

What happens if the Shelby beats the ZL1 on a "track" in a head to head test? Then what do you have?

How can a car that isn't legal for any serious/real racing league, with weight issues (bad for brakes), and a PD blower (bad for heat soak) be proclaimed the track king, before a race has even been run?

Anyone that is serious about actually racing on a road course is either going to wait for the next gen of each, buy a Boss, or buy none of the above. The ZL1 is probably great if you want to goof around at HDPEs once in a while, neither it nor the GT500 is a good choice if you actually want to RACE.

Agreed...we're not talking-DA days at MIR or ATCO.

When I was "serious" as you put it, I had a real race car. Goofing around is all any of us are really doing in factory cars.

I'm not a Ford only guy there are and have been a few different brands in my stable. And yes many are happy with the Boss but I don't see them treating it like its unbeatable unlike the Z crowd.

Everyone over here should understand that the '13 GT500 is an 11.6 @ 124 car. This is the first time its been publicly tested and its already trapping at 121-123, uncorrected. It's going to get even quicker.

It's all good. I have much respect for the new GT500, MUCH respect, and I am glad to see the writings I wrote on the C5 wall months ago are being proven right. Time for some of us here to face it. Having said that, I am not changing my mind about getting a 2013 ZL1 even if it is a boitch to the GT500.

Evan Smith a Pro Driver just finished driving the car and the best he ran was 11.89 @ 123. Its faster than the ZL1, but there its nothing ground breaking. The ZL1 and Shelby are both crazy high powered cars, and the closest most of us will get to a true American exotic like the Viper or ZR1.

Just hope you don't run the 12.2 like Evan Smith did with the Shelby (his first run), and the guy beside you runs the 11.9 like the GM guys did

Not bad. If I could run in 1800 DA's at this time of year I'd be all over it

Oh, and FYI.....this IS that Evan Smith guy who is driving the car, so apparently these times should be consistent with an experienced driver at the wheel and not some amature.

ZL1 has been out for a while now. Show me one BONE STOCK ZL1 that has ran a 11.9 like the GM guys. Better yet show me the 11.9 pass the GM guys made...

The Shelby is clearly faster in the 1/4 mile, but not that much better, and I am not even going to go into the fact Ford did not release its Ring times.

My best friend Chris Jacobson and I, were there for Chevys behind the scenes at the drag strip. The 11.9x times the engineers got, we're both on fresh Nitto Drag radials, which we both do not know why they did not mention this at the end of there video. Yes, they were stock, but with Nitto DR's. The best times they were seeing on street tires, was mid-12's.
