Likely trajectory for posts that perturb you on this site (completely without sarcasm).

Today: People still don't have their cars. There are some delays, some without explanation and nothing gets people riled up/frustrated like not knowing. Plus a minor recall for something pretty silly that likely should have been caught occured. The reviews are out, the car's great but the Earth didn't start spinning the other way because of extraordinary Camaro uberness. And shockingly, a pretty inexpensive option package makes the Mustang outhandle the Camaro. All the while- the state of GM is a soap opera in the background.

3 Months from now: There will be some sort of federally approved plan for GM. The last of the preorders will have been shipped and the production line/shipping channels will be straightened out. The Camaro won't be on the front page of the major mags anymore. You'll start to see the information on modding your car increase (alot) as people have the car in their hands and start playing with it. You won't have daily discontent because GM and Camaro won't be front page. The forums will slow down a bit.

1 year from now: It will mostly be modder and off-topic conversations with some people trying to decide on a new car thrown in. Every so often there will be a magazine article where something beats a Camaro for some reason and there will be 17 page firestorms- but everyone will mostly stay in off-topic and modding forums. The OP will have what he wants.

Since I am the Nostradomus of the interwebz, you are welcome to mark these things on your calendar.

I don't want a Camaro Fan only website. What I do want is for all of our members to be objective and critical of the camaro when necessary. That was all of us. Camaro fans need to be able to admit when GM goones it, or when the Camaro has a weakness. Other car guys need to be able to admit the same for the Camaro and their own rides.

What I don't like is any member trolling here under the veil of "intellectual conversation" If you have a Mustang in your signature, you should know that you have aligned yourself on the other side. That doesn't mean you don't get the same respect as everyone else. But it does mean that we expect you to be able to objectively discuss our Camaro. And yes you are even expected to correct us when we get it wrong on the Mustang or charger or Rice Burner.

This is not a general automotive forum. It's not even a muscle car forum. It's a Camaro Forum, and as such, the Staff and members will lean towards defending the Camaro when all else fails.

So, if all of us can agree to this then I think we'll be fine. Mustang/Chally/Rice guys, please don't troll here, the leash is very short, Please just be objective and fair. Camaro guys, Don't use this site as a bash the other guys site. That's not why we are here.

Thanks,

Chris

Regarding a "Camaro Enthusiast's ONLY" site;

NOONE love's the Camaro more than I. And yes, I tend to want to defend it whenever/whatever it come's "under fire" for anything.

That being said, opinion's, criticism's, etc., are to be expected, encouraged, and viewed with an "open mind". (I recall Scott remarking something to the effect that they were welcomed in order to help in teh development of the new Camaro.)

Addressing the "other car(s)" threads, I'm OK with them. They offer a good method of comparison, another point of view, and add "life" to the forum.

I'm guessing that the majority of members here is over 18 years of age, hence, you're an adult. As an adult, you should be open and able to accept other opinion's, criticism's, and differing points of view. As well, although I'm a "dyed in the wool" Camaro fanatic, if it weren't for the Mustang and Challenger, the 5th Gen., may not have ever happened.

Now, I'm not singling any one person out, I too at time's get fed up with the complaining, whining, bashing, etc., that occurs. But I believe keeping this forum open to anyone who is an enthusiast, whatever make they are loyal to, brings more "to the table" than if it were solely a "Camaro Enthusiasts Only" forum.

(Maybe I can discuss the creation of a "enthusiasts only" section on the site with the other Mods./Admins. and see what comes of it.)

Please. Let's keep an open mind. Be respectful.

Yep. I don't mind the other owners as well.

I DO however mind the repeated threads from those owners OVER AND OVER AND OVER about their cars. I get tired of reading how they are better. I tired of a lot of that stuff. Otherwise, I enjoy having them here too.

My first car was a '69 Camaro. I've owned 15 f-bodies in my 20 years of driving. I still own two '69 Camaros, and have a 2010 Camaro on order. I'm the biggest Camaro nut that I know.

But, I don't mind seeing the complaints or hearing people voice concerns. I think complaining about other people complaining is just as dumb. Sorry to bust the reality bubble, there is no such thing as a perfect world.

I'll take the good with the bad.

I guess if you're a mod and you have to sit thru and read every one of those threads, it would get annoying. However it is better that they are here than if they were not..
