Shelby was great

One of the two drooling automotive lusts of my adolescence, the Cobra other being the nineteen sixty-three Corvette split-window coupe. The race is run, the flag unfurled, the champion ,Carroll Shelby, now will rest.

Sad Day

I was really sad to hear the news. I once had a GT500, and all performance specs aside, there was something about having a car with 'Shelby Cobra' in its nomenclature that you felt pretty deeply. When people would look at the car, there was an aura around the whole thing that was more than just the obvious. We are all very lucky to have had someone like this in the industry.

It really does not matter what your favorite car brand is, we all owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Carroll Shelby. He helped show the world that American engineering and American Muscle cars could compete with any car builder in the world. There is a little bit of Carroll Shelby in all of our cars. Not many people can be a true legend in their own time, he truly was a legend. Rest in Peace.

I see a lot of people questioning why this is showing up in a Camaro forum. Its because at our core, we are not only Camaro enthusiasts, but car enthusiats in general. Carol Shelby may be most well known for the GT500 and GT350 Mustangs, but he was a car enthusiast at heart, one of the pioneers in the muscle car industry. I had and will always have incredible respect for Shelby and what he did for all of us. I wish his family the best and hope that they know they are in a lot of people's prayers.

I like to think that Mr. Shelby will be looking down on that faithful day of the first meeting of a 2013 GT500 and ZL1.

I just hope the his dissappointment at the outcome is fleeting.

But in all seriousness... The passing of a Titan.

Not to detract from your coment or the seriousness of this article, but I bet the values of the originals skyrocket now.
