Old Route 66 (Arizona State Route 66)
Decided to take a more interesting route home from Kingman today and took SR66. SR66 is the largest remaining section of US66 left in Arizona. Most of the towns along the Old 66 route are pretty much completely dead. The largest town on SR66 is Peach Springs at 600 people. Its kinda debatable if Walapai still actually exists but I took photos of where it is listed on the map. Over towns include Hackberry, Valentine, Turxton, Seligman and Ash Fork. Apparently Peach Springs was the inspiration for Radiator Springs in Cars but looking more closely I would think it was probably Truxton.
First up Hackberry...

Valentine, AZ. Another Arizona town with a weird name.

Truxton, AZ. My guess is this is the real Radiator Springs.

Peach Springs, AZ. This town is actually the largest on the Old 66 Route at 600 people. Its located on the edge of the Hualapai Indian Reservation....

From Peach Springs it was a long way to Seligman. On the way the Old 66 Route goes by the Mogollon Rim....

And Seligman, AZ. It was very apparent it was Bike Weekend in the area.

That ironically had nothing to do with the Route itself.
