Oh great, 662HP and 630TQ... just when I thought the ZL1 couldn't get smoked more by a Mustang GT500...

Just to get things straight, the Mustang is:

-More powerful by 82HP and 74ft-lb
-is lighter by a few hundred pounds
-Faster in the 1/4 mile
-Probably the same or better around a track
-Has no gas guzzler tax unlike the ZL1
-Beat the Camaro ZL1 in its introductory year (super lame)
-AND IS ALMOST THE SAME BASE PRICE!

x1,000,000

I LOVE the Camaro but God damn!!

2010 GT500 540hp on 9lbs boost
2013GT500 662hp on 15lbs of boost
15-20rwhp per lb of boost difference just a guess=6lbs diff x 20rwhp= 120rwhp or 6lbs diff x 15rwhp=90rwhp. So the 2010 would gain 90-120rwhp over its 540flywheel rating by adding 6lbs of boost bringing it to 15lbs like the 2013.. Seems to me they could have kept the same package slapped on a more effecient blower intercooler setup for the higher boost, do a pulley sway and they would have been done.

So is anyone else not seeing the correlation here.... Ie.. people that mod the 2010-2012`s`s will be close to on par w/ modded 2013`s at the same boost level. The 2013 will be make more power w/ the more effecient intercooler blower set up and it has a lil more displacement but it probably won`t be a large amount. The 5.4 is already built for boost ie.. forged ect.. how much more peak maxed out boost can a forged built for boost 5.8 take over the 5.4? Probably not much if any.

If I was looking for a car I`d scoop up a 2010 GT500 at a steal because of all the people jumping on the 2013, pulley down, add a better intercooler setup or a whipple and spank 2013`s all day long at the same boost level for less money.

Bolt on best before blower 12.22@113.29 w/ nothing but ARH headers, catted x-pipe, ADM CAI and a tune on stock Pzero`s!

Other car 2008 C6 Ls3, z51, A6, Npp Exhaust, best bonestock pass 11.80@118.82, Number 2 on the Corvette Forums Bonestock fastest list..

15ibs is a lot of boost. I would think they could get more power out of it. The ZR1 has like 10.5 doesn't it?

If I won it in a contest, I would sell it and get a ZL1. Some people simply don't like Mustangs, no matter what the specs are. I'm one.

I feel like I am sitting in a bubble when I am in one of those things. The interior is just plain ugly.

Actually, you're late to the party.....the SAE numbers are 662/631 according to the official Ford Press Release today.

Amazing numbers, now let's see if it has any traction! Can't wait to see what Chevy and SRT (Dodge) do to respond.

I don't know if I would trade, but I wouldn't mind one in my garage sitting next to my ZL1!
