Is there any chance that a CAI install will throw a code? Will a simple CAI install void warranty? Any other issues that might pop up? Woe is me..............worry-worry-worry!! My Borla axle back should be here today, but I know no worry about codes or warranty with a simple muffler install.
Cold air might void that part of the warranty, but I haven't heard of it happening. Lots of us have them!

Thanks. That was only my second time drag racing & first trip to a 1/4 mi strip.

Very cool! Nah, I don't wanna race the crotch rocket but I'll take a ride! I'll bring my bran new, never used helmet. Getting rides was the condition of allowing hubby to get his new bike but I have not had a ride yet!

It all depends on how cool or how much of a butt wipe your dealer is in reality. Most won't void anything for a simple CAI but some will try to. Technicly, they have to show that the problem in question could have been caused/impacted by the modification. My hubby worries about that stuff too but I am about over it. I'm ready for a ported throtle body & a Trifecta tune!

I asked a lot of questions like that, and did a lot of research before ordering my K&N... if installed correctly, it shouldn't cause problems. Keep the stock stuff just in case. WA has same emissions laws as CA, so none of the cais that don't require a tune are street legal. A tune does void warranty, so I avoided those.... Mine is being painted, hope to have install soon

A cold air intake should only void the warranty on the intake itself (since ya removed it!). The engine/drivetrain warranty would be unaffected.

I have the CAI brand intake on my SS, with the optional scoop and washer bottle relocation (all from Apex). It really woke the car up and improved the sound and took a full 1/4 second off my 1/8th mile time at the dragstrip (lotsa fun!)... and it looks great too!

No tune required and no codes thrown.

(and yeah Ruby ... I've been lurkin over here a while ... and like the rest of y'all am far too young to participate in this thread but do so anyway!)

Yup yup! It is amusing to see folks mis-type my name in responses ... the youngin' in me giggles each time I see folks call me GynaTek ... immaturity, yes ...

That was a funny movie! Well I have to go in the morning to check a paint sample to see if the match is good. Then home to give Ruby a good bath & spit polish inside & out. I went for a physical today & my doctor gave me steriods for my hand. I hate taking steroids! They make me so jittery. I guess My body & mind will be moving very fast on Saturday so maybe it will help Ruby go faster at the drag races! I just hope my hand stops hurting. Stupid bug bite! Grrrrrrrrr.
