I'm going to be honest and say that this situation probably didn't happen that way. The board probably said, "Hey man, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? GET OUT!"

This is something the boards of Chrysler and GM should have said A LONG time ago. Resistance to change is something a lot of large domestic companies seem to have.

I too am certain it worked out this way. Good for Ford for knowing what to do.

Actually no. Ford is different than GM and Chrysler the Ford family still has a majority control and final say. Its run more like a family owned LLC than a corporation

No prob, that was my fault. There will be lots of comparisons between these cars for years to come, so I guess we'll have to get used to hearing them mentioned in the same sentence a lot.

The Ford family doesn't have majority control. They've got a 6% stake and three seats out of 15 on the board. However, they've got founders stock so that 6% allows them roughly 40% of the vote on board decisions. So in essence, pretty much everyone has to disagree with the Ford board members but it can easily be done.

Honestly though, RARELY do CEO's step down on their own. Generally they are asked and the board finds a replacement CEO. CEO's aren't usually fired or removed in any public manner (lucky them!) because it looks bad for the company. They almost all just 'resign on their own free will.' Maybe that didn't happen in this case, I don't know, but generally that is what happens.

You really think this is how it went down? I mean, I don't know, but this just
does not sound like reality. Call me crazy, but I just don't see it.

Ok so majority is not quite accurate but they have a good amount of control, also Bill hand picked Mullaly and he did step down on his own

I just saw one (Baby Blue) today at a decal shop and I didn`t find it that SICK..for me it looked just to plain. even the the people that worked there liked the Camaro better. Better curves for the Camaro.

That is so true and there should be a mutual respect, I dont get the hatred I think it's a bit juvenile. These cars are Americana at the core and they both have carved a mark in the fabric of our collective consciousness in what it means to be American. To hate one or the other would be like hating Apple pie or the American Flag, stupid
