not surprised.

the GT-R beat the vette from the line because of its AWD. the vette has more power top end compared to the GTR and that GT-R looks like the 480hp version.

I would like to see the '12 Z06 or ZR1 vette against the '12 Black edition GT-R. both stock.

Cool. Power to weight plays less and less of a role at high speeds. The GTR is surprisingly aerodynamic in terms of drag, but obviously the vette has a better power to drag ratio.
The second vid is great. Guy looks like a fricking machine with that perfect launch.

I was expecting this. GTR gets the launch thanks to the AWD and the Z06 slowly pulls on the GTR at the top end. The speed at the finish explains it all.

But then ... you can keep going until each car is identical, in which case they would perfectly tie at the end of the race. And who wants to see that?

Each car has what it has, and is built to roughly the same price point, to fill similar niches in the automotive world, albeit through vastly different methods.

DOUBLE WTF. My 2001 VW Jetta Wolfburg edition recommended that you have your engine running when jumping another vehicle.

GT-R also lost out to the Z06 on the road course too.

Holy shit! I had no idea they turned the Z06 into such a beast! It's basically like a ZR-1 now. Both of these cars are getting out of hand with pricing though.

The Z06 has always been a force to be reckoned with. Don't mess with a Z06, or you'll probably be sorry.

Its all relative. Once you get past the 'bargin supercars' like the Z06, ZR1, GTR, and Viper you're going to have to spend a few multiples of their asking price to get a car that will out perform any of them.
