Geissele trigger. Get either an SSA (two stage 4.5#), SSA-E (two stage 3.5#), SD-C (two stage 4.5#), SD-3G (~3.5# single stage. Feels like a light switch, either on or off). They have other models as well. Google for their website. Do some reading on ar15.com as well.

I run the SD-C in my duty rifle. The only difference between the SSA and the SD-C is the shape of the trigger. The SSA is a traditional looking trigger whereas the SD-C is flat (straight).

You will absolutely love having a Geissele in your gun.

I have been looking at the Geissele triggers and I think i am going to go with the SSA-E. I thought I would see if I could get some feedback first. I like my Colt but the stock trigger at 8# just doesn't do it for me. I think with the Geissele it will make a big difference.

I second the Geissele recommendation.

I tried the SSA-E and I didn't like it. The second stage was simply too light for my tastes. I would sometimes fire the gun unwillingly screwing with my accuracy. I changed to the SSA and I love it.

So you think that the trigger pull on the SSA-E is too light? I'm looking for a crisp trigger pull to improve accuracy that I am unable to achieve with the stock trigger. This is the kind of feedback I am looking for. So far I am interested in the Geissele SSA or the SSA-E.

Both triggers have very crisp breaks on the second stage. Are you use to shooting two stage triggers? A lot of people confuse the first stage with creep which are two different animals. You can't go wrong with either one as they both are great triggers it just depends on your shooting style.

I set mine up for long range shooting and the way I shoot is after I have the target in sight I pull the trigger and que up the second stage then when I have my cross hairs where I want them i fire. The problem I had with SSA-E is with it being so light I would fire earlier then I wanted and sometimes I wouldn't be able to feel the second stage at all when I simulated a high stress situation. The 2 lb second stage on the SSA is perfect for my shooting style.

It seems like our shooting styles are about the same. I kinda had the same concern as you about the lightness of the second stage. I think I can overcome this with some practice. I can't wait to try this on my AR. Now I just have to try and find a good deal on one.

I'm actually looking at the SCAR 17S and the POF P308. I like the SCAR, but don't like the proprietary system or hard to find $60+ magazines. My friend has a POF and it looks sic! Gonna go with him to the range soon and see how I like it.

Holy expansive batman.

Sorry but there is no way I could justify spending $3k on a piston driven AR10. You can build one almost identical to what they are selling for less then what they are selling just the uppers for.

I am looking for your thoughts. What do you guys think about the Springfield XD 40 4"? I am looking for a gun that I can carry part of the time & have fun shooting. I am a good size guy so I think I should be able to hide it. If you don't like the Springfield let me know what you like. Thank you
