That Eco-boost engine has me intrigued. I hope Ford hits a Home Run with that one. Hell, Buick did it - I am certain Ford can too. GM...Bring back the Turbo system from the GNX and put it to use on a DI 3.6! How much fun would THAT be?

Yep you are right they do not meet the 2012 regs. The Roof crush test went up from 1.5 to 3x's the vehicles unloaded weight. Same goes for the door reinforcments. They are being strengthened to take harder impacts. Currently The Mustang is up to the 2010 standards, but there are tougher standards coming. All of them have to be in place by 2012.

I guess thats with most cars though, but again the extra horsepower is a bonus for me because when I drove the 2010 I thought it was great. I wasn't wanting more hp, if it comes it comes if not I could care less. Same thing with the 6 speed honestly the 5 speeds wear geared great in that car so if the 6 is there or not I dont care to much.
