I never clicked the link... Finding out "What mustang owners think of the Camaro", is at the bottom of my TO DO list today.... and every day.

I never saw the ZL1 engine without the plastic cover until now. I guess I won't be taking the cover to show off the engine. No offense guys, that is fugly in there! What kind of a ugly blower is that?!? Hmmmm, I kinda promised I wouldnt mod the ZL1 but now, I think replacing the blower to get a bit more power and improve the looks without the cover.
I'm leaving the garage now to meet with friends at a Sunday car meet and greet. I hope to see a ZL1 in the crowd. I'll also be talking to some connected friends about the new GT500.

I believe it's the ZL1 wearing the GT500's shoes.

LOL... I thought about looking for them, but figured I'd let you do it for me...

...so I guess the 2013 GT500 isn't copying the ZL1 after all...

I don't understand why people keep bringing up an argument that the ZL1 will be faster because the GT500 won't be able to put the power down. How does the Camaro magically put down it's power to the ground? Does everyone believe that the Camaro engineers know some secret ford doesn't? There's a video of an average guy running the ZL1 down the 1/4 mile using TC and he couldn't break out if the 13's. Both cars will need a tires at the track and at that point the SRA will have an advantage over IRS on top of the GT500 having more power and weighing less. I just don't understand that argument and why it's thrown out in every GT500/ZL1 thread.

Also the ZL1 stole it's quad tail pipes and bi-mode exhaust from the Vette.

It's true for previous gt500s...but then again, it's true for any car with 500+ hp without help of a good launch control. Previous GT500 are impossible to hook up in low gear high rpm shoot on stock tires. Even the ZL1 with launch control will hop on hard launch when driven by an average driver. A lot of people still make that argument because the GT500 is not their car of interest therefore they know little of it but this is the internet and one doesn't get fined for spewing ignorance and misinformation. The new gt500 will finally have a much needed launch control. It will smoke the ZL1 in a straight line anywhere.

I went back and took a second look at the ZL1 engine photos and it looks like the without the cover photo is a development car. There are funny colored wires and a wiggly one going into the CAI at or near the MAF. I doubt the production engine looks any better.

Of course, the Ford fanboys didn't say much about how ugly the exterior of their GT500s are....I'm sure they wish Ford would make a plastic cover to hide that ugliness...I've seen better looking hemoroids!

The GT500 is not ugly, its just not as good looking as the Camaro. Now something like a EVO or Mazda turbo thingy is ugly.
