I've got a couple of stories from when I was a kid. I had an 85 camaro and the first stupid thing I did in showing off was one day when school let out I peeled out and fishtailed a little but I didn't see the cop standing there out of his car so I did it right in front of him. He waved me over and gave me a C and I ticket. That costed me a bunch cuz I had to hire a laywer to get that reduced or my insurance would have gone through the roof. And I don't remember if this happened before or after the above incident but one day after work I decided to peel out in the parking lot but hit some sand and lost control then smacked right into a fellow employees car. I wanted to die at that point. Is it any wonder that a young males car insurance is higher?

Notice on the video of the GTO that one lady says "...this is why we get kicked out of these venues..."

She's right.

We had something similar happen 'downriver Detroit' a few years back.....people were doing burnouts and a couple of cops were 'watching' - trying to be 'nice guys'.......

..........well........one person lost control of his car - and killed one person and injured a bunch more.

The cops and the driver went to prison.

Here's the thing: Don't we already know that these cars are fast?

So - yes, some people want to 'get on it' and show off.........but the reality is that so much can go wrong......esp. to innocent people who are standing nearby - or, God Forbid, coming the other way on the highway.

Some things to think about the next time you may be considering doing a burnout:

1. Do I want to wreck my car?

2. What happens if the activity is banned from future events because of my actions? (...some of us are NOT going to be happy with you.....)

3. What happens if I hit someone (car/truck/person(s)

4. What will happen to my insurance?

5. What happens if I go to prison. (that happens more than you'd think....)

6. What happens if my car (or truck) is seized?

By Seized I mean:

...many municipalities in both the U.S. and Canada now have seizure laws. They can seize your car or truck and sell it at auction......and, oh, by the way, YOU still have to make the monthly payments (court order) even though you don't have your car or truck anymore..........

I don't mean to be a Daniel Downer - but it concerns me that people don't quite seem to think things thru prior to doing something foolish........

Let's keep it safe and let's be mature about these things.........

Well for me it was just yesterday at our weekly car gathering,. A gentleman in a newer GTO peeled out of the parking lot got sideways, fishtailed twice and ended up in the ditch.. He did manage to slam the gas and get him self out before he got stuck and did not look to have done any damage to his car. but his ego was sure hurting as he drove away at 25 miles an hour..

Just thought I would share this with the ones that left early.
a year ago my buddy had 2 beers earlier in the night, then went out in his cavalier trying to impress these 2 chicks he was with. Turned a corner and spun out of control, smashed into a tree, and got a DUI. No one was hurt, but he hasn't been able to drive since, and doesnt have his license back still.

The extreme retardedness and lack of driving skill in these videos is exactly why i think it should be a requirement to take an advanced driving course if a vehicle is greater than a set horsepower before they can legally purchase one and or, drive it on public roads. There would be a lot less morons in high horsepower cars and insurance rates would be much lower. Every single one of those accidents could have been avoided if the driver knew how to drive...

Learned my lesson 40 years ago at 16 watching Bucky Hicks roll his car and die screaming in flames trying to escape. None of the observers could get there quick enough to beat the flames, nobody had a fire extinguisher. Just a bunch of kids being stupid on a Friday night.
It doesn't pay to be a show-off.

What are they gonna do if you don't pay it? Take your car away from the guy who bought it at auction?

Not a fan of seizure. Take their license, not their car.

You're in contempt of court and a warrant will be issued for your arrest. Oh, and you STILL have to make payments on your car that was sold at auction!

Lein on property
Lein on wages (or garnishment)
an arm
a leg
both

Back to the topic at hand. Stupid hurts not only you, but others around you. You don't want the last thing a little 3 year old looking out the window from her car seat seeing is your front end smashing into her car door. Keep it on the track.

This is why I love F Body Gathering.

I know here in VA if your speeding past a certain point, or doing real stupid shit they'll cite you with wreckless endangerment. and if that happens your going away in cuffs, and your car's getting seized. if you get a real good lawyer and pay a bunch of fines you may avoid jail time, but your not going to be driving for awhile.

2 instance of this come to mind...

A guy crashed his M3 pretty bad by showing off.

I saw another guy throw out is clutch trying to do a burn out in his Mustang.

The guys in the Veyron video thought the car was a Lambo...LOL.

That video...I don't see why he crashed...it looks like the Veyron just drove off the road...like asleep at the wheel.
