Hey guys, as silly as that car looks, we really have to be compassionate toward the extreme cases of these people. Deep down inside they know their car is fake even if on the surface they may play it up. They are trying to "live the dream" even if it's a virtual reality, and can't afford to enjoy the real thing.

Having the passion for cars but not being able to afford it and having to settle for a simulation is sad, and if I was in that kind of financial position I would appreciate a little sympathy. We don't need to make them feel bad by mocking them to their face. If you mocked them to their face they would probably try to defend themselves to save face, but what you're really doing is rubbing their poverty in their face - which is a dick move if you can afford the real thing.

My stance is that performance cars are a rich man's toy - they are fair game for mockery. What's not fair game are things that poor people may have to live with out of having no choice.

That's perfectly fair. And I thought about it.

But

A) He'll never read this.
B) Some of those things are WAY out there. If he could afford what he wanted somehow I think it would still be out there.
C) It's all in how you look at it. I'm laughing at the car. Not the guy.

Hell, I appreciate his desire and enthusiasm.

I agree that he'll never read this, so it's "okay" here; but I'm imagining some douche bag in a Lambo mocking a Camaro because it doesn't have real side vents but instead have the faux "gills". We can't very well call the Lambo driver a douche if we're doing the same things ourselves to the less financially fortunate. We're either carving our mark on the douche bag totem poll, or we refrain from doing it.

Anyway - I'm not trying to pontificate - just sharing a thought. I feel really sorry for the Sentra owner, truly the actions of a desperate man.

I loled at the posts made, some people do that to they're cars not because of being poor but because they try to give it a badass look in their minds.. A lambo can laugh all it wants at a camaro, i dont even like lambos so i laugh at them , if people laugh at my car lol go ahead, i do not care.
