I'm sorry to say Michael...but I'm not surprised that FedEx denied the claim. All of the damage I see in the pictures you posted looks like wear and a lot of tear on the wheels well before they were shipped. And if you look at the damage on the cardboard...it doesn't coincide with any of the damage on the wheels themselves.

I have a couple of questions for you...I know from speaking to you before you bought the wheels that the seller sent you pics...and that at least one wheel was damaged already. Do you know when those pics were taken? Were they taken within a few days of the sale or did the seller show you pics from soon after he purchased/installed them on his car? And didn't you mention that the seller contacted you about buying his wheels? That's definitely a red flag...

I've seen several of these cases now and the common thread is that people that ship wheels like your seller did do it for a reason...so they can claim all the damage was the shipper's fault. It's not a good idea to buy used sh*t unless you can inspect it in person IMO.

I have to agree.

I've bought many things on ebay that were great deals, but buy enough and you will find quite a bit of misrepresentation.

If you didn't see them before you bought them you are taking the sellers word for it. And if you don't know the seller well enough to take their word for it then it's the old "buyer beware"

That said, it sucks you are out the cash.

Did I tell you the one about the watch I bought and a few years later a guy at the jewelery store asked to see it? He says you do know this is stolen right? No, how can you tell? This blank space on the back is where the serial number USED to be. Don't take it to an authorized dealer for reapair or they'll coniscate it. Seller had a jewlery store front and great ratings. I didn't discover this tidbit until years after I bought it.

BTW...if the seller was a good guy and not trying to screw you...he would have taken the wheels back and refunded your money immediately. (You would have been out the return shipping instead of $1200) Because I would definitely give a refund if I shipped something to someone that was perfect and it was later damaged by the shipper. The seller is the one that had an insurance dispute with FedEx here...not you Michael and this should have never been your problem.

No. 1 rim had small rash, which I knew about and DID NOT send pics of that on the claim...he sent me DETAILED pics of all 4 rims on his kitchen floor after they were removed, and none of that was on there.

If the packaging was "inadequate" then why did they accept and insure them?

Yea, I agree..He says he's calling them. I can hae em fixed myself fairly cheap, but it's just the point as you said. The claim was only for $690 not $1200, as I only wanted them fixed, not trying to get free wheels at FEDEX expense, but simply fix the damage on them.

As far as contacting me, I had posted a few different posts that I was looking for PC black wheels.

I just dont understand the fact that they would accept packaging and INSURE the packaged material for 300.00 per wheel. Are the employees not trained on whats proper and whats not? Why purchase insurance if they wont honor it?

I also get the feeling this Anthony_v guy isnt gonna give me anything back either...I dunno.

Its policy to steal your money, why you only pay for the insurance if you pay them to package it. They won't tell you your packaging isn't good enough.

Well if Antzv has dated pictures (the pic file always contains that info) of the wheels showing only the one spot of damage right before the shipping...then that should substantiate his claim. Did he submit these pictures to FedEx?

I would jump on a plane and visit the seller... He is screwing you, a stand up guy would have refunded you your money by now plan and simple.

I have sold many things on the Internet and have taken care of business when issues arrive.

At this point I will say take the wheels get them repaired and buy a jar of anal lube to ease the pain because the seller is Internet scum, he knew very well of the damage to these wheels before he sent them to you.

This is not Fed Ex's fault. The packing was piss poor as well..

Just my .02

Yea, I text him and told him this is all bullcrap..at this point he could just buy me a CAI on his CC and call it even. LOL

I have an appointment to have the wheels buffed and etc...I'll just live with that, but I dont want him to get away with it, if it is HIS fault and not fedex ya know?
