Helmut was picked because I always wanted a little dachshund with a good German name. Wilhelm my wife picked as he did not remind us of any peanuts character. Violet as I am sure you know is a peanuts character. So right now we have the 4 dogs and 4 cats but no children. The pets are our kids.

Hi Dianeokra. How was the bike rallee?
Hello all my friends...........bike week (2 days of it) was good. Beautiful weather.........didn't really ride to downtown Daytona......over by the speedway, out to the Harley shop at Destination Daytona, all over Deland and Orange City and around. Took the "monster truck" to downtown Daytona to see the freak parade! Best part of the trip was Melbourne beach at sunrise............just beautiful

Yayyyy Spring has sprung!!!

Greetings all!!

Very happy that Spring has finally made it, can't believe it's gonna be up in the 80's in a couple days here in the East!

Had some sad stuff last week, had to say goodbye to an old close friend from work....this is what sucks about getting older....losing good people.

But life does go on and I am working on enjoying mine, especially with the new ragtop.....nothing like cruising with the wind blowing through your hair.

Happy motoring!!

PS: Only about 3 weeks til the Phils open up at home and I will be there!!!! Oh yeah baby.

Oh, shush on your good weather comments already! First day of spring, had a mix of snow and rain on and off all day. I call BS on global warming....

Actually, my theory is that all the tree-hugging Pacific Northwesterners and their Priuses have actually slowed global warming TOO much. That's why we still have winter. We gotta get our Camaros out and drive more!!! Now, how to do that on icy roads.... hmmmmm....

I agree with all your sentiments........losing others just makes me more determined not to waste time on things that won't matter later...

Glad you're enjoying life and our cars are a good way to enjoy if cruising holds good memories............

Good morning all!

Having a rather surreal moment.... First the back story: About 30 years ago, my dad was charged with 1st degree assault. He was a cop, and had punched another cop who was trying to rape my mom (he was drunk after a conference). The other guy fell and smashed his head on the pavement, and had permanent brain damage. There were 3 trials. First result guilty, 2nd one/appeal result mistrial, 3rd result not guilty on the basis of self defense. It was a precedent setting case, being the first one where the state had to reimburse my family for all legal costs (going broke trying to prove it was self defense? don't worry, the state will pay you back now!). The lawyer my dad had basically launched his career with that case. He's had several very high profile cases since then. Now why this relates to my surreal moment?? I can't go 10 minutes without seeing this lawyer on TV! Local news, national news. He's the one defending the soldier that allegedly killed all those civilians in Afghanistan.
It's just really weird seeing him so much, and it kind of takes me back to those hard times...

When I first heard about that; my first concern was for his family. I was hoping there was some way they could conceal his identity just for their sake. Now I find out from TV,that they lived just a few blocks away from me. Thanks for nothing media! They have been moved on-base for their protection. I wonder how long they will have to remain virtual prisoners themselves? As for the soldier; I know that there is way too much that we don't know about this incident to form any kind of valid, or just, opinion. We may never know. For the time being, my thoughts and prayers are focused on his family.

He was on this morning saying there's no evidence against his client
