Downforce is far more important for handling on a circuit, namely long sweeping corners. Here, adding downforce to the rear of a front heavy car (be it a Civic or a Mustang) will give the back tires more grip, which reduces oversteer (although I've got to admit, FWD cars don't oversteer very much). Additionally, rear wings aren't the only source of downforce for cars. There are also front splitters, such as the one font on the ZL1 ![]() Here, we have a device creating downforce on the front end of a RWD car (the hood vents help with this also). Again, this is done to improve handling, just like the rear spoiler. All that said, slapping big ugly spoilers onto a car that isn't going to see a track (except for maybe from the parkinglot) let alone have enough performance to actually make use of them is definately rice

Thats more Beaned Out. I have been on a site called Anti-Rice.com for like 11 years. The whole rice thing has been well defined by a few here. Non function paintwork, lambo, doors, kitt scanners, fake vents, cowl hoods without utilizing the high pressure area in front of the windshield for performance purposes, any added lighting etc etc etc. Theres even factory rice, example on a 5th gen, rear quarter gills, ABL, Halos. It depends what level you want to go. I have seen quite a few cars from here, end up over there. Sure theres personal little styling things to do to make your car different. I built a grill and the engine cover and an MPD1 spoiler. Maybe light rice? Maybe,,,,, there's no real performance purpose. Maybe the grill is a lil lighter. Ricing has really jumped to muscle cars now. Before when Fast and Furious came out yah tons and tons of riced imports. Now they are mostly really clean and well done and fast, even the Strudel Boys have there Krautvagens looking nice. As I said before it really depends on what level you want to take it too. Best way to think about it is. At the low end of the rice scale you have say a heritage grill,,,,,,,at the extreme end you have lambo doors. And last time I checked a Mitsubishi Evo isnt rice. A regular Lancer done up to look like an Evo is. Same as GS hashmarks on really anything but a Corvette GS is technically rice.
Heres a link to a massive amount, beware lol http://anti-rice.com/smf/index.php?board=11.0
