True, this is why I have a Cruze as well. I hope GM makes a killing on the Sonic!!

The only option I would check off is the Recaros....but thats not even a must have.

I can install a killer suspension set up on my own if I want......

I would pass on the ZL1 suspension too if I could........

The only track most of these cars will ever see is a quarter mile or the open road between traffic lights. In that regard, it makes alot of sense to make the upgraded suspension, etc an option. Horsepower bragging rights and quarter mile times in this class is what most people truly want.

Exactly what I've been saying. On the streets, straight line performance is really all that matters and is how the cars will be judged by 99% of the masses. So they can tout that the ZL1 can handle so good blah blah blah but it won't matter to the majority of the streeted car.

The reason that Ford set the price bare bones is obvious. Its the only way they could set the price to match the ZL1.
Now when the comparisons are done between the two cars I wonder if a base car will be used or a full load?.....hmm my guess is that Ford shows up with a full load, then attempts to call it an even match.
This pricing confirms ZL1 as the clear winner, cause there's no way a stripper gt500 is gonna be able to compete on the track with a ZL1..

We will just have to wait and see won't we?
The car is not stripped down even base, where do you get this? it's a stripper from?
You're talking like the car comes with no interior and a lawn chair for a seat. lol

and again we don't know if it will compete on the track AS IT HAS NOT BEEN TESTED.
the level of bench racing is too high!

More power, less weight, track apps that are > GM's HUD.... and now it's even less $$. Ford really kicked Chevy in the on this one.

GM needs to get their "stuff" together.

soon it is going to be like this...well, the ZL1 comes in IOM so it is better. and the Ford guys will say...but the GT500 has better paint quality.

The GT500 will be a beast and if I was getting one, I would be thankful to Ford for giving me options on how to spend my $ on things I want on the car. Like I said in another thread, the new GT500 will outperform the ZL1 on ANY straight line race, put DRs on put cars and that gap becomes greater. Now, if you want to chase a ZL1 around a roadcourse, you can get the SVT-PP for a few thousands added to the base MSRP. There will be no GG tax so that is money towards that option. 650hp is

It costs what it costs, plain and simple, each car has options above that and each one WILL have dealer mark-up....... you don't honestly think the dealers out there will NOT be marking up the ZL1 do you?

MSRP is MSRP anything else is up to the dealer and customer.
the MSRP is 54,200 directly from ford.

There can be dealer mark up with ANY car, Solution: find a new dealer.
