yeah, i'd like a 63' split window with a fuel injected 327. I don't think they had light blue that year, so silver. Classiest, most beautiful car ever.
only thing is i really wouldn't want a car that i couldn't take out of the garage.

The car is sick. Right now it's a pure drag setup; over 800HP, NA. But we're going to put all the stock parts back in; I'm SO glad his dad saved everything! It's about a $500 bill every race weekend just to pull it off the trailer, and those slicks mean lots of things break. I'm going to be glad to turn it back to stock.

That's the thing; I don't know how we could drive it if it's worth such an ungodly amount...

Unfortunately i've seen example's of that a lot. First gen Z/28's into drag cars, all type's of Sting Ray's. makes no sense to me.

Uh.... it's really in good shape, but we need to touch up a few things and get the racing stickers off the paint, that sort of thing.

Don was not an idiot. His family owned a drag strip and the car was bought new with the intention of it being a drag car; it was purpose-bought.

I'm an idiot I guess because I don't know what tubbed means?

In the late 60s early 70s no one gave two shits about them... why not build them into drag cars. No one could have guessed it would be the way it is today.

BUT they are not worth near what they could be.

And yea, those idiots with first gen drag cars

inner rear wheel wells cut and widened to accept larger tires and a narrower rear end. You do know what a rear end is right...

Don knew enough to keep everything original that he took off the car, and it was all prepped and stored, so we can turn it back to stock fairly easily given Rich's expertise with Chevy V8's. Thank goodness.

.

No you're not an idiot if it has huge slick more than likely it's tubbed, if it has a roll cage in it. I ask all these things bc if the answer is yes then the car isn't worth a shit except maybe $20k or whatever the buyer is willing to pay. The reason the drasctic price cut even if it is an all number matching car and you semi restored it back you will not get top dollar for it becausae the car has been cut up. Still a bad ass car none the less but Don should've bought an plain jane vette and put that one in a barn or garage and left it alone and "all original"
