Linda, thanks so much for the good read. Here is a very short one I've been waiting to post. i think now is a good time.....

There was a young builder who went into business for himself. A wealthy friend of his father came to him and said, “To get you started right, I’m going to have you build a house for me. Here are the plans. Don’t skimp on anything – I want the finest materials to be used and I want flawless workmanship. Forget the cost, just send me the bills.”

This young builder had the “play now, pay later” attitude. He shortchanged the man in every way possible – he used second hand nails and flimsy walls. When the last crummy nail was driven in, he gave the keys to his father’s friend, after pocketing all the money the man had given him to spend on the finest materials. The wealthy man wrote a check in full for the house and gave the keys back to the young man. “The home you have just built is for you my boy… it is my present to you. May you live in great happiness.”

Have you checked out the PNW threads? We're planning a get together on March 31st at Dicks Drive In - right now, looks like 40 5th gens will be there, from all over WA, OR, BC... Trophy goes to the one who travels farthest for a burger

I wish I could go to the fest... But, 2000 miles each way, gas already well over $4/gal here (premium was $4.29 yesterday ), the timing of it (it's the week of my stepson's b-day, he has no interest in spending it driving across the country).... it just won't work this year. :( Think maybe next year it will be back out west again???
