Read the facts folks! =)

One out of every 3 sports cars bought in America is either a Chevrolet Camaro or Chevrolet Corvette. And to top that off at VIR Virginia Motorsports Park the Camaro ZL1 lapped it more than 6 seconds faster than the current GT500 and just 3 seconds behind the Dodge Viper ACR. And the Corvette ZR-1 lapped it 3 seconds faster than the Dodge Viper ACR and faster than any other car to lap it. I'm not trying to start anything just throwing the facts out here to people on this forum since we get alot of people from Dodge & Ford saying this and that. Facts are facts and Chevrolet is leading the pack in BOTH sales & performance. Funny thing is the competition are putting themselves in a bad spot again end of this year the new Dodge Viper will be released well what comes out end of next year? Oh thats right the new C7 Corvette it doesnt bode well for the Viper. The new 6th Gen Mustang comes out in 2014 what comes out the following year? Oh thats right its the 6th Gen Camaro again too much time for Chevrolet to throw another blow.

So, they are honestly considering the CRZ and the Veloster as Camaro competitors? And the 6 series, SLK, and Z4 as Camaro compeitors? give me a break, read that yesterday and they have picked and chose cars to make their numbers pan out. What a joke.

Well closest thing to a Corvette would be a 911 so im not sure how those are wrong? And the Mustang & Challenger are Camaros closest competitors so thats not wrong either. What else is there to compare it to??

So much more that is better especially against the Camaro. Seriously, do you see a 138 HP economy car or a hybris 2 seat hatchback as Camaro competitors? I saw their reasoning for leaving out the Gen coupe, but hell, most of what they compared the Corvette against would be closer to the Camaro than those 2. What about the 370Z? Heck looking at V6 models, the Accord coupe, Altima coupe, even the Eclipse and G37 are closer competitors than the CRZ and Veloster, again, they picked a slow selling hybrid and a car that only came out in November of last year to skew the numbers.

As for the corvette, what about the Obvious GT-R??? The 370 Nismo? ate least pit other performance cars instead of of ones you'd be more likely to find in a secratry's parking spot.

Love the performance aspect, don't really care about sales as much.
a car selling or not selling really has no bearing on me if I already own one.
If it sells a bunch it doesn't change my cars performance, if it sells a little it still doesn't change my cars performance.

The Eclipse is not going to be made any more after this year and the GT-R doesnt come close to the sales of the Corvette we are talking a $95,000 car to a $45,000 car unless your taking the ZO6 or ZR-1 in this. Yeah the GT-R is on the same performance level as the Vette but no where in sales.

^but sales don't really matter much to the people driving the cars since they only buy one lol I think performance outweighs sales, I can't buy 40,000 corvettes so what matters is the one that I have and how it performs.

Yes!!!! We drive the same cars as the majority!! This is much to celebrate - when I was a kid I always dreamed that I would grow up and become nothing special! Yee ha!

From a corporate standpoint, it definitely is something to celebrate.

Yes!!! I always dreamed that I would be counted part of a giant entity rather than as an individual! Being unique is soooo over-rated!!

Emm hang on.. why are we celebrating the "corporate standpoint" again?

If we were just going on a 45k price there are quite a few cars that would kill Corvette saleswise. I mean really, you are comparing cars that come with basically 4 cylinders and 6 cylinders only (SLK55 accepted of course) to a V8 only car. Again, it's a GM numbers game to make it work out to their favor, plain and simple and it is a load of BS any way you look at it. `

I don't see owners of this car celebrating on the streets that they drive the same car as everybody else:

but geez.. maybe there IS a large group of people who celebrate conformity?

More Camaros sold = more incentive for GM to build another generation. Remember what happened with the 4th gen?

Don't like it? Then you shouldn't own a Camaro. Something from Italy would be better for you.

Anyone who expects an affordable, mass-produced sports coupe sold under the second best selling brand in America, manufactured by the world's largest automaker to be somehow "exclusive" is completely and utterly delusional.

Nobody is expecting exclusitivity. But celebrating homogeneity is entirely a different matter.

If being one of the joneses is the highlight of one's existence, I would suggest perhaps raising the bar a little.
