$100 says the Gov't buys the patents for all of this for "counter intelligence" gathering. I mean imagine a fly that has wireless video streaming - it'd really be big brother
But regardless - that's awesome. |

Remember that this is a prototype.
I wouldn't be surprised if you could make the layers thinner and put computer circuits in each layer. The only issue I see with thsi process is that you almost have to have some sort of external power such as solar or something. This prototype was externally powered, so that would be the challenge.

build solar cells into the wings - shouldn't be that hard in comparison to building the whole fly.

I think the biggest thing to remember here is MoBee is a prototype, or more of an example of the fabrication process. With imagination and intelligence, lots of miniturized devices that don't even need to fly could be made this way. Wheeled, walking, all kinds of things could be done. Flapping wings was a simple mechanical process. Getting wings to flap in a way that can fly, be controlled, etc...that's a lot more difficult and I don't think this technology is at the point it could create something like that...yet.

still leaves evidence if caught, the GOV has been there and done that and then dropped it.
