Forte. Even that isn't making too big of a splash. I had to live with one for a week and came away completely unimpressed.

ok but is the majority of the price really based on the body panels and how theyre shaped? or is it the chassis and how its built to perform? something that looks like a ferrari is not possible for a manufacturer to build at an affordable level?

i see, i always thought they were mechanically good cars. Anyways the cars you listed look ugly and uninspired in my opinion. Just wondering why an automaker doesnt just say " hey lets make a truly beautiful automobile that looks like a lambo but costs near entry level" and if it wasnt possible. Why EXACTLY it isnt possible. i understand not ALL things are possible or doable. to me, it just seems like everybody is ok with the affordable cars to look like doodoo just because theyre affordable.

Well it's not just body panels, it's also the interior, the electronics, the paint, etc etc. If you made a base model civic look like a Ferrari, do you honestly think that would look good?

By "halo cars" do you mean cars with HID headlights? Yes they are more profitable, but if the camaro looked and drove as good as a corvette - why would anyone buy a corvette?

Have you seen what the top selling passenger car in America is right now?

You're living in a market where people are willing to accept something that looks like Toyota just built a 2012 Toyota Corolla XL and make it a best seller.

Building polarizing designs that will appeal only to a certain demographic is not what any automaker wants to do with a volume product right now. Not to mention that yes, building a car with the design of a Lamborghini costs a hell of a lot of money.
