Jesus Christ! I really hate the Westboro church!

This is just a horrible thing, makes me very sad for those kids and the family survivors.

So so sad.

As for the social worker- I think she's extremely lucky. The way he planned things out, it's a good thing she didn't make it to the house before the kids. I think he planned to dispatch her first. The kids running to the house gave him an opportunity lock her out so he didn't have to deal with her, and she wouldn't have time to threaten his plan. Other than having to live with the memories, she got lucky.
The thing I want to know is if they suspected this guy of killing his wife- and they knew it, they just couldn't prove it to a jury-yet. Why would they think it was okay to send an unarmed woman alone into his house? It boggles the mind. I'm waiting to see if anything is made of that in the aftermath. Some people need to lose their government jobs over this one.
I agree with this 100%. I do Foster Parenting and I too have seen some things that just makes me scratch my head!!! Why did they not make this sick man go to the DSS office to "visit" his boys?!?! It is just crazy that this was allowed to happen!

Dateline and 20/20 are both covering this story tonight, if anyone is interested in more details...

Dateline did a good job telling the story. Not overly sensationalistic. They had interview footage with Josh Powell, and his lack of emotion was sickening. You would think that a man being accused of foul play in the disappearance of his wife would have shown SOME emotion...

So, this day started off sucking when I heard that Josh Powell's family was looking to purchase the gravesite next to the two kids, so he could eternally rest near them.

Then, this afternoon's news proved that there is some good left in humanity. Essentially, officers from Crimestoppers ended up buying the two plots next to it.

This new information doesn't really surprise me. I remember hearing early on that many thought Steve Powell might have been involved.
