I really want one, but don't think I'll ever get one. Too big and bulky, I'll use my iPhone for any portable gaming.

The tech in it is really cool though. I'm a Microsoft fanboy and this handheld is pretty legit!

Seriously, remote play is worth the cost of admission. You're around a wifi network 1000 miles from your house, and you can play games stored on your PS3 or in the disc drive.

Devryn, let me know how it is after you've had some time with it. I want it to feel like I've really made a great purchase.

Will do. I'll post my impressions on 2/29 (1 week after I take delivery of the system)

I just wish it had some kind of phone support. I'd drop the iPhone in a heart beat.

See...I don't get that mentality. Yes, on my iPhone I enjoy the occassional game of Jetpack Joyride, but I pick up a PSP or Vita for an entirely different experience. When you're limited to only touch controls, GAMES SUCK. Granted, that's my opinion, and opinions are like assholes, but that's how I see it. Give me a simple dpad and some buttons...I have GTA III on my iPhone and it's damned near unplayable.

I agree. I can only tap, tilt, and swipe for so long. Speaking of controls, the added analog stick to the vita is a major selling point for me.

The added analog stick is definitely HUGE. But wow...Analog triggers, a multitouch screen, a multitouch back panel, gyros, gps, etc...It's an AMAZING piece of hardware. It's pricey for a typical handheld gaming platform, but when you compare the hardware vs the much more expensive hardware of the iPhone or iPad, it's NO CONTEST.

You can get the launch edition bundle next Wednesday for $299. It comes with Super Stardust and an 8 GB memory card (and some free 3G time but really...meh). Oh, and it's the 3G version (obviously). You can get the wifi only for $250, but it comes with NOTHING and you'll have to buy a memory card anyway.

Oh, and the memory card is proprietary, so...yeah...$$$ An 8 GB like comes with the launch edition is $30. A 32 GB is $100.
