There are bad apples in every profession, but in Law Enforcement the very few are a black eye to all we trust and protect us. It is something that moset every department takes VERY seriously as it reflects on them as a whole.

Down where we are there was one we dealt with personally. He would come into shops and threaten to find a way to arrest anyone if not given free stuf, have his personal cars worked on imediately, and given huge discounts. Several shops finally got together and approached the county with documentation (he stole a enclosed car trailer from us, forged my name on the title, and registered it claiming he only paid $100 for it) and IA launched an investigation. We never got the trailer back as he had sold it ($12k trailor) but they eventually gave him the choice of resigning or formal charges. He took the reignation and the sheriff personally gave his appologies to us and assured us this is NOT toerated in his force and the guy will never work in law enforcement again. I am still angry to this day we never got reimbursed, but we would have had to pursue it in civil court and the cost was more than the chance of recovering so we dropped it. We are very impressed with the fact that they did actually investigate and took action to boot him, just several businesses were victums and none got compensated.

We do appreaciate all the LEO's that take pride in their jobs and the service they provide and these are few and far between.

I love LEOS..... and hate that this guy gives them a bad name.

When the 4 officers were killed, it hit me pretty hard for many reasons. My dad is a retired cop, one of the officers lived in my neighborhood, my stepson goes to school with children of two of them, and I drive by the place they were killed nearly every day. The outpouring of support from the community restored some faith in humanity... Then this jerk takes some of it away again. He doesn't even deserve to be called a LEO...
