Tablets?

So, I've got this itching to buy a tablet... but I want some valid reasons (excuses!) So I figured I would poll some of you that have them

What kind of tablet do you have? (iOS/Android, etc)
What size screen?
What's your favorite app or thing to do with it?

oh, and lastly, anybody got any deals?

I have the iPad2. Think its around 9 inches for screen size.
And well, I use it mainly for school. It has apps that are pretty much windows office type of item but only $10 and also work with the windows versions.

I'm typing on an iPad now and the kids have the kindle fire. I think the fire has a better feel and is a better size. I use mine for movies while traveling internationaly. When home I use to serf the Web and email. A few games.

Waiting for the Google Android tablet to be out this summer here.
They are going head to head with Amazon and the kindlefire for cheap powerful tablets.

Anybody have any wall mounts for their tablets? I've seen a few interesting ones lately, can turn the tablet into a info window on the wall.

I have an HP Touchpad. They can be had for pretty cheap. The apps market sucks, it runs on WebOS. More apps are being added, though, and no big disappointments with the tablet. It weighs a lot but is the same screen size as the iPad2. If you have the money, I'd shoot for the iPad. It's the more superior product right now to be honest.. Faster, more lightweight, better apps, etc. The only thing the Touchpad has going for it atm is a lower price (got mine for $150) and a better looking screen.

If you have the money, I would recommend the iPad2. It has the best all around function and the largest app store. The size is just right for a tablet, too. Mobile Safari is one of the better browsers out there for tablets.

But if you want to go with a less expensive route, get a Kindle Fire. It's best function is an ereader, but it can do many other things well. The only downside is the browser is a touch clunkier than the iPad2 or even other Android tablets. For the price though, it makes for a great alternative tablet. But it is limited to Amazon's app market, which doesn't include all Android apps. There are ways to side-load apps not available on Amazon, but it requires more effort than it's worth.

If you want the best, iPad2. If you want the least expensive but still functional, Kindle Fire.

I use an iPad (the original version).

I use it mainly to read, using Kindle software. It's a glorified book reader to me, that also lets me watch movies and browse the web if I have Wi-Fi. Nice to be able to watch movies in bed if I want...

How long are you willing to wait? Because there are some new android tablets coming out at great prices.

- Google is working on its own 7 inch tablet to compete with Kindle Fire (and you know coming from google it's specs will blow the kindle fire away) Google has said it will cost 200 or less

- Asus recently teased a 7 inch tablet called the memo something. Basically its a smaller version of the "transformer prime" and is going to sell for $249.

Both of these tablets are going to be quad core and super fast and will be running Android 4.0 (new)

I plan on getting one of these for sure.

me to dude. Who the hell wants to pay a ton of money for a stupid ipad?

personally I think the huge 10 inch tablets are way too big. My wife has a 7 inch kindle fire and i think its perfect for road trips and all that.

I cant wait to see the ASUS and google tablets.

Cool

I wanted an iPad 2 for a long time, but could never justify a need for it. I have a laptop and my iPhone. For Xmas, my wife got me an iPad 2 and I use it more than anything else I have. It is my default browsing tool, and what I use when I am at home or out on vacation. I absolutely love it!
My wife has the Kindle Fire that she loves...just too small for my liking.
