The town gets some clues during night 2. They are made aware by acowherd that he knocked out maroboy2001 and placed him in jail for the night. However, suspicions still arose about whether he had a killing role or not. If he would have stayed out of jail would there of have been two townies killed or still just the one? Too many were still confused. Without trying to figure it out, they hang him up.

There was a lot of confusion going on during the day that one would think the night would bring a mess of crazy townspeople running around like headless chickens. Alas, efforts seem to have paid off in the end and no one has been killed. Everyone is accounted for.
