I just watch the barrett jackson auto auction and saw that the they auctioned off Vin#0001 for the 427 corvette convertable and the engineer was saying something quite surprising that this might be the last 427 in corvettes so it might be last year for big displacement V8 in vettes any thoughts people?

Considering how the entire LS-series of V8 engines will be dead in the next year or so, I wouldn't expect another 427.

That is kinda sad but i guess from a Cafe and epa standpoint its what the company needs heck mercedes has already lowered displacement on their engines.

I read in this file that this is the last year for the corvette for awhile. Does that mean that GM is skipping a year or more before they bring out the next generation?

It's the last year for the C6. C7 launches next year.
