Return of the Chevy El Camino?
Rumors from down under over the last 12 months is that the Holden (Australian subsidiary of GM) Ute (Utility Vehicle) will be introduced to the US market (as they did with the Pontiac GTO and G8) as the new Chevy El Camino. GM's financial recovery and the foreign exchange rate between Australia dollar and US dollar have been the big gap too far. Latest buzz from Australian publications is that 2014 model year will mark the introduction (after the Ute gets a makeover). There is much more demand for a truck car in australia, they made the gto down there for years before it came here and was a flop. And the gto gad more potential than the el camino. I seriously doubt we will ever see it

If they had brought over the Pontiac version like they were planning before Pontiac went belly-up, I would have bought one of those over a Camaro without question. I don't think I'd trade my Camaro for one though..
