The Volt is safe

The government probe into the Volt is finished and the car is declared SAFE!

I don't know of many cars in the real world that would sit for three weeks after a hard hit without being looked at ar at least repairs begun which in this case would have prevented this fire.

GM will continue to add steel plates to protect the batteries on sold and unsold cars, hopefully it doesn't add too much weight.

Nothing compared to what NHTSA did to Toyota with their never proven floor mat and unintended acceleration BS.

Now GM needs to worry about letting everyone know that the Volt is government tested safe.

Exactly.

I didn't read the report...did they also determine they're idiots, themselves? That SHOULD be an official finding of this "probe"...

These things really piss me off at car shows when people only know a very limited part of the story. They are soooooooooo smart to know that the Volt catches on fire, but don't know anything about it being a couple of weeks after it had been crash tested. I really doubt you'd have been in it when it happened fella, and there would have been a whole lot more wrong with it even before the fire finally happened from the coolant leaking into the battery tray after the crash.

Not everyone. But there's a group of people that will always think the government is true.
