Not at all. I still have my head unit. I replaced the door speakers, A pillar tweeters and 6x9s with JL Audio stuff. They're all powered by the factory amp. My 12" JL Audio W6 is powered by a 500W JL Audio Mono Amp. All you'd need to buy is another amp for the sub.

Here is my setup. ******** box and amp rack. The carpet on the amp rack is actually darker than the picture makes it look. The flash makes it look lighter than it is.

Thanks Jordy! It's nothing fancy like some setups, but it's good enough for me. Especially since I don't do car shows.

...Yeah. I'll take my amp burried in my trunk and my dual 6 subs next to my face. Makes for a 'quiet' roadtrip when you have a whiny passenger 8 inches away in the other seat. Crank the two closest equalizer tabs.. better than duct tape.
