Don't like the Dart. It's a shame to the old one. I'd go with the Hyundai. I've heard great things about them these days.

Have you owned a Dodge lately? My Patriot, Caliber on stilts, has been great and trouble free for 85k miles, easily one of the best vehicles I have ever owned which includes a LOT of GM products (probably the worst) and a few Fords. Also the Dart is heavily Fiat based which is far and away one of, if not the most reliable brand in Europe. Also Chrysler has made strides and gains in quality while Ford and GM both fell in the latest quality studies. The highest rated domestic in quality per consumer reports? JEEP! I hate it when people just spout stuff......... Besides, when it comes to GM, if they can't make a 50k luxury sedan, that doesn't leak, have steering problems, and engine issues, why would I trust a car from them that costs less than 20k? Like I said before I got my brother to go with the CTS because i thought GM had changed. Shame on me.......

As for the Veloster and Dart. Both will be very high quality cars and very reliable so do not worry about that. If that is what she wants, she should get it, ignore the suggestions because NONE of the cars suggested are going to serve her better than the 2 she looking at. Once the Dart hits the streets, take her to drive both, whichever she likes best is the one she should get, it is that plain and simple.

That "Dart" and I use the term loosely, is one of the ugliest cars I've seen in a while. What a shame to use the Dart name on such a god awful looking pile of junk. I would take any
thing Hyundai makes over that.

Your opinion is quite the minoity compared to the public, auto mags, etc, etc. The cars looks have gotten awesome reviews and it at least looks sportier than the Cruze (not a bad looking car itself, just boring).

Also the Dart is what it was, Dodges entry level compact. Some people just put too much priority into what a name once was. Most Darts were extremely slow economy cars. A few special with V8s and performance models made it out the door, but 99% of those made would be killed by a stock 2.0 13 Dart is every performance category.

Darts for me meant much more than extremely slow economy cars. My 69 with the 440 was far from slow and looked much better than the spaghetti burner that Fiat is pushing today. There were many V-8 Darts that ran very well. They were the muscle car definition. Striped down basic car with a big ass motor. Far from what we see with the 2013. If you like good for you, but the OP asked for our opinion so I gave mine. The Hyundai looks much better to me.

The more I have looked at these two cars the Hyundai is growing on me. The Dart does look too simple. The Hyundai looks aggressive.

is not a early rumor. It's official and will be at the dealerships this spring. The 3.8liter V6 got a new direct injection treatment with the hp near 350 and 295tq. The 2.0 turbo is also going to be upped with twin scroll turbo putting out 274hp/275tq. Both with 8spd auto and 6spd manual. They only weigh 3300-3400lb. I am actually seriously considering the 2013 turbo

OP, The turbo VELOSTER all day! non turbo is too slow.

LOL

On another note, I'm genuinely surprised that the Veloster is winning on this site... You people disappoint me.

After owning a Hyundai Tiburon GT3 m6 for 100000 miles, I'd take another Hyundai over a Dodge every time. Every pay attention to where the blue smoke in traffic comes from more times than not? If you do, I think you buy the H
