It's still fuel injection, but it injects fuel at the throttle body and has old style intake. Never used one but hear they work pretty well.

Are you thinking of doing a retrofit on an older car? Never heard of that bunch, but Holley has the Projection system, and then there's the GM systems.

Those old systems are easier to program than the new stuff.

Brother in law has a bad ass Jeep that he built from the ground up and he doesn't want to go direct inject EFI if he can make it easier and save some cost. I"m not exactly sure how this works. Injects at the port above the valve? From what I've read the Powerjection is like a full system in one unit, even self tunes to a degree. I'd go with an in tank fuel pump but it looks pretty easy. I just am not sure where to get the best deal and talk to someone who has actually intalled one and/or has street use with one.

I didn't know Holley and GM has them too.

This site is not exactly carburetor friendly.

Edelbrock makes stand alone kits that should do what you want

Stand alone as in port injection or direct injection?

Anybody have a good description of exactly what the difference between a full EFI and this kit is? Does this kit spray into the manifold or the ports or what?

This has come a ways from the TBI system like on my oldest's '91 Chevy Blazer, but it reminds me of that. Just without the big injectors before the carb butterflies. Looks clean and includes engine management system as well. Looks like he'd only need to drill into the exhaust for the O2 sensor. Not a bad price either for everything it comes with.

Is it a Jeep with the 4.2 straight 6? I had one of those and had constant fuel starvation problems!

POWERJECTION III The Complete Throttle Body EFI

The new Powerjection III has taken a quantum leap in technology for aftermarket fuel injection systems. It is by far the least expensive and easiest to install of any full featured system. It is also one of the most technically advanced of any aftermarket EFI system. The Powerjection III features the Stage III Engine Management System (EMS) mounted directly onto the throttle body thereby eliminating 80% of the necessary wiring harness. The throttle body assembly includes the EMS, throttle position sensor, MAP sensor, idle air control, and four 62lb. /hr. port style injectors. The linkage on the side of the unit is identical to a Holley 4-barrel and the throttle body has overall dimensions that are the same as a 4150 style Holley.

Powerjection III Kit Contents:

• 750 CFM Throttle Body Assembly
• ( 4 ) 62lb. / hr. Injectors
• Built in EMS ( Engine Mgmt. System)
• Dashboard Software CD
• Installation/ User Manual
• All Harnesses and connectors
• Idle Air Control
• Built in MAP Sensor
• Coolant Temperature Sensor
• Throttle Position Sensor
• Wide Band O² Sensor and Cable
• O² Sensor Mounting Clamp (Bung)
• Throttle Body and Air Cleaner Gaskets

Not sure on the engine. I'll ask him.

From what I gather it's really easy to install and figure out. BUT, I read that and think to myself "Easy for WHO?"

BTW Norm, your wife healing up ok?

Here is the Jeep.

Not a lot of guys on here familiar with this type of fuel delivery set-up.

It's more for the old folk I guess.

But the Jeep is cool as shit.

The newest Hot Rod magazine has a write up on them.

So they are pretty new then?

I'd really like to talk to someone who has installed one.

Maria's healing well. All bandages off and she can go back to work next week. The following week we have the last (Hopefully) follow up in Atlanta.
