I like the Wolverines but they won't be able to run against Bama and Denard is going to have to throw the ball. You have to have a balanced offense to be successful against a Saban defense. It will be a good gauge for Coach Hoke and the Wolverines on how far they can go. UM won't be take off until Denard leaves becasue a QB he is not and there are too many politics to move him.

For sure. They'll probably be the preseason #1. Top 3 for sure.

With Bama losing at least 7 defensive starters I won't say it'll be impossible to run. They'll surely have a good D because hey, it's Bama and Saban is a great coach, but Michigan won't be a pushover running the ball with their Oline, Denard, and Touissaint.

As far as them not taking off until Denard leaves, I couldn't disagree more. Yes he struggled at times this year but he also came on strong at the end. He had fantastic games against Nebraska and OSU. We went 11-2 with him under a new staff and new scheme. He does have talent and with a year under his belt with the new system I expect good things. He is the only QB to pass for 1500 (2570) and run for 1500 (1702) in a season in history. He's also the only QB to have 2 200/200 games in history too. He was a couple of yards away from doing it 4 times (186/197, 190/191). Don't let this past season fool you, he'll be just fine.

The good thing about Alabama's defense even though they are lsoing 7 starters is that teh back up players got a lot of playing time, they rotated in almost every game......Saban is know for suffocating defenses and I don't see that changing.

What I am really surprised is that the offense even though it is losing some starters and Trent...it will return 4 of te 5 offensive line....the backups were hurt this year after knee injuries.

I did want to bring up one point about Alabama football and college football in general.......Alabama won the 2009 and 2011 BCS National Championships with a very interesting fact....each of those teams won with a first year starting QB.

I fully expect Alabama to lose some games this year...it is human nature after you have won the title to be a little complacent no matter how hard you try....Alabama will have to go to Baton Rouge and Arkansas this year plus will have to go to Missouri.

We lost 3 juniors to the pro's....Dont'a Hightower, Trent Richardson and Dre' Kirkpatrick.....It looks like Alabama may have at least 4 first round draft picks for the second year in a row...kinda impressive to me.

I am really surprised Alabama is at #3 but even more surprised that LSU is #1. For my money I would have put USC #1 even though I can't stand them.

Oregon will have a good team, OU should be strong especially with Stoops coming back as Def Coor.

Arkansas is the team in the SEC along with Georgia who I think will do really well.

If Texas can improve at QB a little bit they will press OU for the Big 12.

6 from the Big12 and only 5 from the SEC.

But the 5 SEC are all in the top 10.

I would rather not be ranked pre-season Number 1........hopefully the younger Alabama players will be hungry this year but I can't complain at this point with 2 titles in 3 years.

I predict a Big 12 team and a Pac 12 team in Miami.......that is an early prediction

Ya, it's pretty early. But Mike Stoops is a year too late. OUs offensive line is all back and so is their QB. Their receivers and RB are proven and ready to go. It's their sorry ass defense that the problem will be. Not sure one off season is gonna be enough for Mike Stoops.

If it is, I'd put OU up against anyone in the way too early 'on paper' games.

Isn't it funny how teams turn out....if they have a high powered offense then the defenses are OK but not dominate, but if a team has a dominant defense then the offenses are OK.

I still can not figure how OU lost to TT....that one there puzzles me.

Sal Sunseri..Alabama's LB Coach and best recruiter is going to Tenn as the Defensive Coordinator. He has a son on the football team and a daughter on the volleyball team at Bama and his other son is QB at Pitt.........Will be a tremendous loss since he is a great coach..........Wish him well though.

It's really no different than, say, Florida or any other SEC team being down a certain year but can still beat a good team on a Saturday.

Of course OU was highly over-rated at the same time. TT played the best game they were capable of and OU was over-rated AND played a shitty game.

Yup. A lot of people kinda thought that game was the 'turning point' with layers and staff to believe in Saban.

Not sure how they figure that, but I heard that a lot.

Certainly can't argue with his success since.

When Saban came to Alabama there was alot of players who felt " Entitled" and didn't feel they should have to work hard....Well when he started playing freshman and seniors sit the bench it started opening peoples eyes. They were alot of bad apples in 2007 he went 7-6.

2008 12-2...undefeated in regular season, lost to Fl in SEC Champ game and Utah in Sugar Bowl
2009 14-0 BCS NC's
2010 10-3 Won Capital One bowl
2011 12-1 BCS NC's

Once he started getting the recruits, changing the culture and mindsets of players they started winning. Just like he did at LSU.

He didn't do well in the Pro's because he is a control freak, hell he had Pro Players crying. Millionaire ball players don't like control freak coaches.
