I think you nailed it. I doubt there is that much of a difference at high rpms, but he probably felt the torque difference at lower rpms. It still kind of amazes me that I can pass someone in 5th gear easily (although half the time it ends up being 3rd ).

Autmatic R/ts have run 13.1-13.2 stock, manuals are as quick as 13.4, V6 Camaros are generally mid 14s to lower 14s for the manuals, the R/t IS quite a bit quicker, over a second quicker in the 1/4 mile. If 1/10th equals 1 car length, that is a 10 car length lead by the end.........

I have a 2012 v6 test drove a ss. I felt a little more power but not as much as I expected. Test drove a 2012 mustang gt. That car was fast. I bought a camaro because I like the looks not for speed. If I want a car for speed i would buy a mustang 5.0 or a shelby

Camaro was voted the "hottest car" at SEMA 2 years in a row. It's pretty amazing, especially for us hard core Camaro guys that pre-ordered our cars back in the winter of 98/99.

The Challenger is a cool car. I would actually put it as the number 2 car as far as the cool factor on the street.

I have people (men and women) tell me that they just love the Camaros and the Challengers. I've never had anyone tell me they "love" the Mustangs.

But as far as performance: Challeger 392 >Camaro SS > Challenger RT > V6 Camaro > V6 Challenger

IMO, similar rolling start take-offs(butt dyno), but going from 2nd - 3rd gear is when you feel the difference between the two(both A6 v6/v8)..now the LS3 pull/shift between the gears is nasty(in a good way). And blue/red lights in the rear mirror are standard, lol.
V6 power is enough for me(for now, anyway)..maybe when used ZL1s are in the market

I love my V6, but there is always some regret. I got the 2010 Synergy. I figured that green will make the car stand out, so at least it would be special I that sense. Then Chevy screwed those plans by releasing.g that for a second year. Now I am back to lusting over the orange and black SS. Wife is back playing prevent defense.

Now go drive an SS. And after that, drive a mustang 5.0.

Then take you time and decide which you want.

In my honest opinion, the camaro has the best styling to performance ratio, if that's even a ratio.
