Hi Jeff. you are more than welcome to join in, that's what this thread is all about. Whereas you've started this goal before you probabaly know it's not easy but very doable. You just took the first step so don't look back. A good start would be to chime in daily and let us know your sticking points and ask anything that you would like to know. There are quite a few knowledgeable people here who would love to help in keeping you motivated. Start out slow and build yourself up gradually to prevent injury and I promise it will all fall in place.

I woke up with a renewed strength and got on my Bike and rode for 20 min.'s that is program "Weight Lose 1" on the bike. I figure I will do that for a few days or a week, and work to the "Weight Lose 2" program. I had yogurt and some Omega 3 enriched flax seed/granola and some fresh fruit for breakfast. For lunch... nothing I ate breakfast late. For dinner? Not sure yet, green beans and chicken probably. LOL

It's good to see you starting a routine but I must tell you skipping meals is not acceptable. Try to come up with a healthy eating plan and stick to it. A few posts back are a couple of charts with food values and a sample diet plan that may get you going in the right direction. Check it out and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Yeah that's the hardest thing for me to get under control.

I also have some not so healthy foods that I need to finish off, so that's what will be for dinner... I would do as Bonnie suggests and throw them away, but on a self employed income it's hard to just throw away good food. I will be through it this week and when I shop for next week I will be able to buy for my meal plans.

Without being an a-hole there is always an excuse to start tomorrow rather than today. You wouldn't be throwing away "good" food lol. Then again you could donate it to a local food bank and feel good about two good choices. When you do get started don't wing it, spend a few minutes and plan your meals then try to prepare in bulk then you can freeze it and nuke it, it will be so much easier. If you want post your meal plan and we can take a look at it.

That sounds great but I have question, do you really know what eating right is? Work schedules can put a dampner on life lol. Can you spare 20 min a day?

That's a step in the right direction. Chances are if you cut out unhealthy snacks and fast food it will make a difference but most likely you still will not be eating healthy balanced meals. If you are serious about this take a look on pg 2 at the food chart and diet plan listed. All the foods on the chart are considered good choices but portion size and the combination of food is also important. The meal plan listed will give you an idea of what a well planned diet will look like. Look at it like this the listed meals are like high octane fuel for your body.

discipline is a tough thing to stick with. stay away from the unhealthy snacks and substitute them with something healthy.. or you could even have a nice protein shake. it really just depends on your goals. dieting is usually the toughest part for most people.

Fruits in general are considered a healthy snack but if weight/fat loss is your goal you should limit them. Fruits are full of fructose (simple carb) a natural sugar. Sugars spike your insulin levels and that is unwanted. 1 or 2 servings a day is ok and definately better than snacks with processed sugars. Do you want to look like the lady at work, if so eat what she eats lol
